The ‘Yard is 8

Brewyard Beer Co. has reached their 8th Anniversary under the overpass in Glendale.  These guys throw a good party too.  So in addition to new beer and new collaborations there will be music and food and you might find a seat next to the Brewyard truck to sip your beer.

Books, beer and Burbank

Trustworthy Brewing is the meeting place for the newly formed Burbank Books & Brews bookclub.  It was organized by a Trustworthy bartender too.

The second Thursday of every month out on the back patio will be the reserved space and the books have been Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers by Jesse Q, Sutanto in November and on Thursday, December 14th the book is The Keeper of Happy Endings by Barbara A. Davis.  If those choices interest you, check it out.

9th LA IPA Fest

In a little over a week, the 9th edition of the Los Angeles IPA Festival will be held at Brennans in Marina del Rey on the 11th. You will quickly see how IPA is still the giant in the beer style world.

Three Weavers x 3 = 9

Three Weavers is hitting their 9th Anniversary on November 4th and they have laid out how they brewed Time is a Flat Circle which is a double dry-hopped Cold IPA.

“To even call it “double dry-hopped” seems a bit of an understatement because our brewers have added ridiculous amounts of hops during the following processes…

1. Mash

2. First runnings

3. Bittering

4. Flavor

5. Knock out

6. Whirlpool

7. Dry-hop 1

8. Dry-hop 2 (we’re at this step today)

…And you might ask yourself, “Gee, that sounds fun but *which* hops did they use?” Welllllll…

1. Simcoe Cryo

2. Strata

3. Citra

4. Idaho Gem

5. Mosaic Cryo

6. Citra

7. Chinook

8. Cryo Pop”
