Firestone Walker will be releasing Double Hypnosis. Styled as an Imperial IPA though it is only slightly above 8% ABV.

Party Beer Co. has a new DIPA about to land in their West Adams brewery, BDE.
The Full Pint blog has hit year 15 and they teamed up with Radiant Beer Co. for not a session IPA, not an IPA or a DIPA but an XPA filled with New Zealand hops like Nelson, Motueka Cascade hops from New Zealand.
Here is the brewery rundown, “Aromatics of melon, Sauv Blanc, citrus zest, and lemongrass open up into flavors of white peach, passion fruit, and delicate lychee balanced with a hint of crackery malt and superbly high carbonation.”
Ambitious Ales has a footy themed West Coast DIPA ready, Keepie Uppie – brewed with Strata and Rakau hops.
“Showcasing hops from our two favorite farms, Keepie Uppie is layered with a dank and resinous aroma from Indie Hops Strata and then backed up with a medley of ripe tropical fruits and some nice tones of grapefruit from Free Style HopsRakau. Clean and bold, this is one you’re gonna want to try! “
Perfect to drink as you watch Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth try to stay in the Premier League.
I firmly agree with a brewer naming at least one beer after themselves. Seems only fair after all the work done in making the beer.
And in that vein, I present…
….Heller’s Lager from Arrow Lodge.
(It is also good to see a non-IPA pun)
Yes, El Segundo is first and foremost an IPA or even better thought at DIPA or TIPA house but underneath are some exceptions to the rule and this Oktoberfest, ESBC has paired with noted home brewer John Palmer for a Dunkel Bock. This will be great to taste alongside their returning festbier.
Ambitious Ales has a new can drop with what they are labeling a Cosmic Hazy IPA called Dream Tea.
Here is their description…
”We took our standard hazy base and supercharged it with Phantasm derived from New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc grapes in the whirlpool along with Citra Icognito and dry hopped with Mosaic Spectrum…
”Fermented with a hyper-thiol driving yeast strain designed to unlock some of the most intense fruity characters we’ve experienced in any fermentation to date! Dream Tea has a nice medium body with low bitterness and packed with huge notes of Fruit Gushers, Fresh Mango and Lychee while finishing with a touch of hoppy resin.”
Weihenstephan has added a wrinkle to the festbier this year. The ever popular 16oz can. The design of the label is clean and classy and I will be looking for this in four-packs.
Add in my favorite hop Strata along with one yet unnamed hops HBC586 in both standard and cryo formats and you get…
…the scary bloody mouthed Cactus Car from Ogopogo Brewing.
One L.A. brewery who didn’t jump straight to canning was HopSaint from Torrance. But now, I have started to see good beer shoppes start to carry five of their beers from Kolsch to Hazy.
