Box or Cooler

It’s both!

Dogfish Head has a new Off-Center Your Summer Pack. It has water-resistant packaging that allows you to convert into a cooler simply by tossing ice in. The variety includes 60 Minute IPA, SeaQuench Ale, Lupu-Luau IPA and Namaste White. 3 of each.

I wonder what these are made from or coated with to keep them stable?

You BrewDog

For those home brewers out there who like to compare their work to the pros or who like BrewDog beers but can’t get them. Now you can with 63 of BrewDog’s recipes.

“A decade in the making, DIY Dog was one of the best things we have ever done. Every single BrewDog recipe released, for free, to the global homebrewing community who have supported us since we began all those years ago. Hundreds of prospective brewdays, laid out in black and white. Just add malt, hops, water and yeast. But time moves on. Luckily so do we.”

Bag it Up

I have malt bags in my home office. They could have many, many uses for those with the handyness gene.

Or you could order a Bountiful Bag for $25.00 from Rossel & Company. They make tote bags from upcycled malt bags that were used in the production of beer at San Diego breweries and at El Segundo Brewing too.

“A portion of each sale will be donated to the non-profit organization I Love A Clean San Diego in their efforts to actively conserve and enhance the environment through example, outreach, and local involvement.”

A Chilly Turn

If you stroll into a 7-11 you might spy a Fizzics Sparkling Cold Brew Coffee. There are plenty of local (and not local) cold brew to choose from but this brand is packaged in self-chilling cans.

7-Eleven brings first self-chilling can to market for test launch of new Fizzicsô Sparkling Cold Brew Coffee (PRNewsfoto/7-Eleven, Inc.)

This chiller is the brainchild of The Joseph Company International. “The 8.4-ounce cans are “activated” when the customer turns a knob at the bottom of the can, releasing CO2 that cools the coffee inside in about 90 seconds.”

Will this ever work for beer? It will add weight which will add to shipping costs. The tech will cost more as well. But could it be used for those accounts that don’t cooler store beers and you have a special release? Maybe but I think that a cold delivery chain would be a wiser investment.

Feline

I don’t need another t-shirt nor do I need another beer glass but when i saw that the new logo for the fun (and feline informative) Cats on Tap, I am seriously considering making an exemption on that tariff.

Needed (or Not)? – Beer Ripples

http://www.coffeeripples.com/beerripples
I do love when I order a coffee drink and there, in the foam, is a leaf or a heart or some other design. That is not something I could do in a million years and it is a cool touch.

Now, how about buying an expensive machine that prints (something edible, I hop) onto the foam of a beer. Something really short like, Beer Good. Won’t that make your beer tastier?

Beer Ripples can print a messages or images on beer foam using malt-based ink. The company also has a coffee equivalent called Coffee Ripple.

You won’t be surprised that it is app enabled and you can select from images or phrases already archived or upload original images. On the downside, it only does one color and you will have to wait for your pint an additional ten+ seconds for it to go into a machine that shoots ink into it.

So, yeah, NOT needed. Put your creativity on a coaster instead.

50-2

I have mostly done hard pass when it has come to Kickstarter over the past 1/2 year. Too many gimmicky items or items that had surpassed their funding goal on Day 1.

But, since I love a good label, the 48 Beer Project caught my eye.

If this comes to pass, it will be a great look into the design process.
