One benefit of taking over an existing brewery is the opportunity to turn back the anniversary clock. Project Barley Square is taking that tack with the new 1st anniversary for their Torrance location.

Take Home Casks
Looks like you can get that cask attitude at home. Yorkshire Square of Torrance is now selling “naturally carbonated 5 liter mini casks.” They have the directions right there on the cask. And for those who only traffic in the limited release, well according to the brewery “these are produced in super limited amounts and will rotate through different beers.”
N’owt 2
Long time readers know that I do NOT go out on St. Patrick’s Day but that blanket ban does not extend to March 16th. Especially when the 2 edition of the N’owt but Stout Festival lands on that day at Yorkshire Square Brewery. The Torrance based but British in heart brewery will be bringing the dark stuff from over 25 breweries for unlimited pours as well as a brewers panel for those who want to learn more about stout in 2019.
Make sure that you get in on the Early Bird tickets!
Cask Competition
Yorkshire Square is adding a new fun feature to their cask ale promoting Torrance brewery, the Cask’s Not Dead Fest of 2018. On Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 12:30 PM – 6 PM, there will be a blind tasting of 25+ breweries to determine the best cask ale.
Don’t worry, you don’t have to be a judge to partake of the beers or the live music, or the food trucks. There will be a VIP session from 12:30-2pm followed by the General Session from 2-6pm. The list of breweries will be posted on the Yorkshire Square social media spots and you can get the tickets HERE.
This event is in conjunction with the Los Angeles County Brewers Guild.
Six Courses
The official cask marque’d beers of Yorkshire Square Brewing are getting the beer dinner treatment.
Robert Bell, the Executive Chef of the restaurant Chez Melange along with YSB owner Gary Croft and Andy Black the brewmaster from Yorkshire Square have created a quite British take on the beer dinner.
Here are the pairings, “Mini Cornish Pastie that pairs incredibly well with the Early Door, an English pub bitter. Served next, is the Bouzy Scotch Egg paired with the Little Nipper Beer, a golden ale/blonde ale. The third tasting includes Mulligatawny, an English soup, paired with Yellow School Bus, an American style cream ale. Fourth, is an authentic Pork Vindaloo served with an extra special bitter, the Strongest Possible Language. Fifth, is the Lamb Shepherd Pie paired with the Double Mashed Export Stout. The night is then finished with a century old dish, Spotted Dick with vanilla custard and paired with an English Pale Ale.”
Tickets are $45 per person for the August 27th event (that is a Monday), plus tax and service, and are available for purchase by calling Chez Melange at (310) 540-1222.
