Prequel to Bottle Sharing is Caring

Faithful readers of this here blog will know that I “tease” my weekly FoodGPS posts the day before they hit the interwebs. Well this is a prequel to the teaser. A little meta, I know but if you are in the Los Angeles area this Thursday, April 4th and have time between 7pm and 11 and want to attend a bottle share at the hideaway inside the Pub at Golden Road, Chloes that features finds from not only Celebrator writer Tomm Carroll but also beers from the cellar of Tony Yanow of the Golden Road/Tony’s Darts Away/Mohawk Bend troika.

Without delay, here is the info you need to know and the beer lists.

Tomm will be bringing over a few bottles from his personal cellar including:
-Petrus Winter Ale (2010)
-The Bruery Barrel-Aged Papier (2009)
-Boon Mariage Parfait Gueuze (2009)
-Allagash Interlude (2008)
-Grand Teton Double Red Ale (2008)
-Chimay Grand Reserve (2007) (magnum)

Tony will also be contributing some bottles from his cellar including:
-The Bruery Saison de Lente (2010
-Russian River Damnation Batch 23
-Russian River Consecration Batch 6 and Batch 8
-Russian River Supplication Batch 6
-Russian River Salvation Batch 10
-Redemption Batch 9
-Port/Lost Abbey Red Poppy (2011)
-Port/Lost Abbey Angel Share (2010)
-Port/Lost Abbey Older Viscosity (2009)

“In addition to these beautiful bottles, we will be hosting Golden Road beers inside Chloe’s from 7p-8p which will include specialty pub-only beers alongside our new Wolf Among Weeds IPA and other new goodies. We will also provide glassware as well as unsalted pretzel puffs to cleanse your palate. A special a la carte menu will also be available for purchase if you crave for something else.

HOW TO GET IN? While there is no entrance fee, we do ask that each guest please bring at least 1-3 bottles to share with the group. There is no limit on how many you may bring so if you’ve got some gems you’ve been wanting to share in your cellar or even a great home brew you’re proud of, bring them on in!”

Blogging at the Speed of Beer

If you would like to meet people (like me) and start to social media connect with the burgeoning L.A. Craft Beer Scene then I have an event for you.

Here is the scoop from Cambria and Fran from Golden Road, “We are proud to present our very first event made just for YOU. We are teaming up with LA Craft Beer Bloggers to open the Chloe’s doors to our Facebook fans, Twitter followers, beer blogging pals and homebrewing friends — nobody else! We’ve reserved a special night at our upscale pub-within-a-pub so we can hang out and enjoy each other’s company in a relaxed atmosphere AWAY from our computers.

So here’s the plan for the 29th of January (A Tuesday, yes, you can drink on a weekday):
Doors open at 6PM.
At 8PM the one and only John Palmer and the illustrious Drew Beechum will speak and answer questions on homebrewing and beer writing, offering their precious insights into brewing great beer and upping your beer writing game. If you don’t write or brew, no problem, they are great resources for learning more about beer all together.

From 6:30-8:30PM the Golden Road beer and appetizers in Chloe’s are on us. Our full menu and beer lists from both The Pub and Chloe’s will also be available for purchase all night should you hunger or thirst for something more.

After John & Drew time is over stay and hang until 11 PM. If you happen to blog, we’ll have a table set aside for you to share business cards with your peers and the like, so bring anything you feel would help you connect.

To guarantee your entry to Chloe’s for this event, you MUST RSVP VIA EMAIL to with your full name, phone number, email address, and Twitter handle!! A “yes” RSVP to this event page will NOT get you in… as backwards as that may sound 🙂

Further details on special gifts, beers, bites and GRB brewers to join us are to come … as well as an extra special surprise for our homebrewing friends.”

So if you would like to get involved in “pushing” craft beer then let’s meet up.
