Travel Writing

Stone has a new One Batch Dispatch out now, Travelogue Triple IPA.

This is a big one, as they describe, “Our trek started with Amarillo hops – a favorite from Stone history that we’ve fallen in love with all over again – combined with Loral and Mosaic. Meanwhile, we used flaked wheat and oats, which you’d typically see used in a hazy beer, but filtered this one for a classic, bright appearance.

That all went according to plan. But the surprise came when this beer that we expected to be a double IPA, came out at a massive 10.7% ABV. Despite the big alcohol content, this beer is incredibly smooth, letting the intense tropical & citrus notes shine with a glorious lingering hoppiness.”

Aces

AleSmith is not slowing down the collaboration train as they have a new West Coast-style IPA with Revision Brewing, Split Aces.

The press release description is, “Notes of tropical fruit, pine, & berries all shine through thanks to Idaho 7, Chinook, and Mosaic hops, all brought together by a healthy punch of malt.”

The Universe

May 12th is when you can have the luck of the stars with the new Beachwood beer release, Cosmic Lottery, with a hop blend of Strata, Mosaic, Citra, & Pahto. Plus that label is a colorful delight.

The End

Now I am not a huge fan of the multi-colors on this label but for a barrel-aged beer the name is just about perfect….

Sante Adairus has found a great saying to accompany their 2 year old beer with Wondrous Brewing which proves that you can still find a great beer name.

Bridging

Angel City honors the past occupants of their brewery with Bridge Builder Hazy IPA.

Their DTLA Public House “was once formerly the John A. Roebling & Sons west coast warehouse, where they would manufacture steel cables to build some of the most iconic bridges across the country.”

Here are details on the beer, it “has an almost vanilla-like sweetness upfront, followed by pineapple, nectarines, fruit punch and strawberries with a full mouthfeel and a finishing tropical sweetness. Brewed in the very same warehouse that used to build bridges, it’s safe to say this brew really “bridges” the gap between our building’s past & present.”
