You do not see too many tart / sour beers pulled from other styles. Nor do you see gingerbread in the equation either. But New Belgium Brewing is giving it a go with….
It Really Does
I am quite surprised that this beer name hasn’t been used way more, especially here in Los Angeles, I guess that travel from the Santa Clarita area to NoHo can generate it for sure.
Traffic Sucks is the first collaboration between Lucky Luke and Lawless. It “is a snappy hop forward lager. Brewed with Strata hops, this golden clear lager is bursting with passion fruit, apricot and strawberry notes along with hints of the hop plant’s party animal cousin (we’ll let you figure that one out).”
Good or Bad
Claremont Craft Ales should probably rename their new IPA to (Good) Fortune because ant new beer from them is indeed lucky for hop fans.
Smoggy Stereo
Smog City is going Kiwi with their friends at Stereo Brewing Company with Hāpi Mirumiru, a New Zealand-style IPA with three New Zealand hop varietals.
Hippies
There Does Not Exist is a bit of a darling in the beer world so it comes as no surprise that they have teamed up with Firestone Walker on a highway series, a hippie highway of hops.
Double-Nosis
If you were a fan of a regular sized hop hypnotism, then you will like ….
Firestone Walker will be releasing Double Hypnosis. Styled as an Imperial IPA though it is only slightly above 8% ABV.
Footy
Ambitious Ales has a footy themed West Coast DIPA ready, Keepie Uppie – brewed with Strata and Rakau hops.
“Showcasing hops from our two favorite farms, Keepie Uppie is layered with a dank and resinous aroma from Indie Hops Strata and then backed up with a medley of ripe tropical fruits and some nice tones of grapefruit from Free Style HopsRakau. Clean and bold, this is one you’re gonna want to try! “
Perfect to drink as you watch Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth try to stay in the Premier League.
Not in SoCal
Smog City is getting our hopes up for winter with….
…snow would be nice but a little dew to go with my hazy might be all I get.
Rock It
If you are like me, you probably don’t drink enough sour beers. Brouwerij West can help get your tartness levels up with the flavors of mango and hibiscus in their new beer, Rock Awash.
NamiPA
For the fourth year running, Pizza Port has combo’d with Pure Project on a beer and for 2022 that beer is Nami. An IPA, which you probably already guessed. What struck me was how pretty the label was, that Japanese inspired blue ocean is very cool.
