Star Wars geeks know the importance of Kyber Crystal and what happens if the crystal is red. It means a hoppy red ale from Long Beach Beer Lab that even a Sith Lord could love. Masters and apprentices alike.
Don’t Be Scared…
…away by the last ingredient listed in the latest Stone Brewing One Batch Dispatch offering, Down the Rabbit Hole.
“Our Innovation Brewer Fritzi Lara Lino concocted this creation along with our Small Batch team using coffee, chocolate, strawberry… and mushrooms.”
Short Lived but Not Too
Usually when I post about MadeWest Brewing Company and collaboration and IPA, I mean the latest installment of their Short Lived series. But Wave Pattern is different.
Yes, it is “an easy drinking IPA, over-flowing with aromatics of guava, bubblegum, ruby grapefruit zest and pine resin! And with a malt bill consisting of Rahr Northstar Pilsner and flaked wheat” but this is an El Segundo Brewing beer done with MadeWest and not vice-versa.
This new West Coast IPA is filled with Strata, Simcoe, El Dorado and Riwaka hops.
Verdugo
As the rain recedes and sunny days intrude, it becomes lighter beer season in Los Angeles and one that is out again now from Lincoln Beer Co. should be on your radar, Verdugo Pilsner named after the mountain backdrop for Burbank where the brewery is located.
Saffron
It has been a bit since I have mentioned Firestone Walker and Buellton but a new beer is coming out that changes that trend and it is a unique one, Saffron Saison a wild saison ale with (take a guees) saffron, sweet orange peel and Indian coriander. It is a Batch No 1 release.
2 New from Beachwood
Beachwood Brewing released a pair of IPAs this month that you should look for on shelves….
First released was Pizza Corgi, “A double dry-hopped West Coast IPA packed with enough dankness to make and hop-head drool featuring Nectaron Cryo, Nelson Sauvin, and Nectaron hops.”
Second was Animatronic Friends, “This modern West Coast IPA boasts a futuristic blend of innovative hops and electric aromas.” With Mosaic, Ekuanot Cryo, Columbus, Centennial, HBC-586 hops.
Red, White and Pils
Stone Brewing recently dropped a new pilsner.
It is a flag type of can for sure. Wonder if this one will take off sales wise.
Four Copies
Replicant in Pasadena has a big ol’ IPA ready for you and it promises to be blissful.
Everywhere in Comfort
Another IPA collaboration to highlight today as Creature Comforts and Everywhere Beer have put together a Georgia-LA-Anaheim IPA.
An L.A. Creature
Creature Comforts has been up and going for a bit in south DTLA and last year packaged an L.A. barrel-aged beer, but now the first brewed in L.A. beer is here…..
If you haven’t visited the brewery, this new beer might be the excuse you need.
