Edel-Hawk

Enegren Brewing wanted to add to your dark beer choices and your pilsner options, a new beer arrives for both…

Edel-Hawk Black Pilsner with the “roasty goodness of Nighthawk with a slight floralness of Noble hops gives this beer a super dry crisp finish.”

Eponymous

I firmly agree with a brewer naming at least one beer after themselves. Seems only fair after all the work done in making the beer.

And in that vein, I present…

….Heller’s Lager from Arrow Lodge.

(It is also good to see a non-IPA pun)

25 for Ommegang

Two things got me to writing about a special limited release beer from Ommegang Brewing.

One – 25 freakin’ years.  You can’t not celebrate that.

Two – imperial amber ale, how often you gonna see that style

oh and Three – it’s in bottles.

Here is more on the beer from the brewery, “25th Anniversary Ale is an imperial amber ale that conveys a traditional Belgian sweetness balanced with spicy citrus notes. This beer pours coppery brown with a billowy cap, and notes of lemon and white pepper flakes that are present straight away. At first sip there is a presence of sweet maltiness, that is refined by late additions of Cascade hops, resulting in a dry balanced finish.”

The TartWay

AleSmith has their second Speedway Stout variant for 2022 ready: Tart Cherry Edition.

Here is the brewery description, “An ample amount of tart cherries, vanilla, and artisanally roasted coffee combine to create the perfect blend of complex, delectable flavors.”

It is a cool side street of this series, taking it away from bigger and more loaded to tart.

Pear-ly There…

…is what I hope doesn’t happen with the pear in this new beer from The Bruery.

Pear is such a delicate flavor which is probably why it is not used so much in beers. I think the flavor combo for this punch might overwhelm. I would have left out orange and found a barrel treatment a little less powerful. That said, if the blenders got this one right, it sounds great.
