In the Tap Lines for July 2023

Climate change has weirded out the weather here in Los Angeles and in many other spots on the globe but this month is the time for lighter beers as we get higher temperatures. Plus the other fun stuff below….

Ya’ Mama

If you are a fan of Ogopogo Brewing and you really like Citra, Azacca, Amarillo and Chinook hops but you also like coconut and pineapple then the new Yacumama Hazy IIIPA coming in at 10.5% should be right up your mythical creature alley.

In the Tap Lines for June 2023

June is a special month on the calendar. You have the Firestone Walker Invitational, you have L.A. Beer Week and the weather ain’t like a pizza oven yet here in Los Angeles. This month plenty of posts about the festivals and less about the weather.

Olvera

Surprisingly Angel City Brewery is the first to name their Mexican lager after one of the most famous and historical spots in Los Angeles, Olvera Street.

The really evocative art is by Elisa Torres Art as curated by ArtShare LA.

A Good Drip

The Three Weavers group has a new but different collaboration out with Tarantula Hill Brewing under the name: Code Name. The Inglewood version is Juicy Drips. Word to come on what Tarantula Hill will call theirs.

Each juicy pale ale “was made with the same hop combo, Galaxy, Mosaic and Cryo Pop.” Will we be able to tell the difference?

For the Table

There are certain styles that I am glad to see come back around. Belgian Table beer is one of them and Offshoot Beer Co. has one coming out that you can’t miss on the shelf…

…though I would like to get a non prickly pear / hibiscus version.

Weaving an N/A

It has been a nine month journey but Three Weavers has three (fittingly) N/A beers in cans.  Three months of work each is my math is right for a lager, Eest Coast IPA and a Hazy IPA.

To add more math, the near beers will be sold in six-packs.
