The second and final video review for October is the Eureka Wit from Angel City Brewing here in Los Angeles. A great style that is a bit overlooked by today’s hop heads. Let’s see how the bottled version compares to my remembrance of the tap version…..
Angel City coming SOON
Ever since Angel City Brewery re-started back in 2012, they probably have kept getting asked the same brewery question. When are you going to be open? As beer geeks know, that always takes too long and usually not because the brewery doesn’t want to be open.
Well, we are closer to the start for Angel City. They had a sneak peek on the 4th and they will be open soon. With hours from Tuesday through Sunday. That was good news to hear but even better was that there was a new beer flowing! Vanilla Porter. And though a skosh cold for me it had a pleasant vanilla taste that was strong but not sweet and a good base porter as well.
The bar area is looking good…
.. and the rest of the massive building is slowly coming into focus.
When I see this space, so many possibilities swirl through my head. Though I will not try the slide.
Angel City – New Look Labels
Angel City has been quietly plugging away in the background of the Los Angeles scene. Sure they have been at the L.A. Beer Week and other events and you can find their beer especially downtown. But the tap room is still in process and the beers and the beer names were in R&D for awhile.
But now, here are some label images for what you will be seeing on store shelves….
I like that they are evoking the grand movie palaces of downtown with these looks. It ties in with the Hollywood theme and plays nicely with the Angel City logo. All of a retro L.A. Noir piece but with room to grow and be creative.
