My lucky number is 9 so whenever a brewery reaches that milestone, I consider it a good omen. And Brewyard Beer Co. right here in Glendale has hit that mark before the end of the year and has a multitude of plans for the special day.
I would also consider attending a good omen.

Boom You’re Nine
Away from the trendy and busy Arts District by a Metro line and a few blocks is Boomtown Brewery. Not a foot traffic spot is what I am saying.
But they have reached the nine year mark and will be celebrating with lots of music, a strength of theirs, and a space that hums with activity.

Three Weavers x 3 = 9
Three Weavers is hitting their 9th Anniversary on November 4th and they have laid out how they brewed Time is a Flat Circle which is a double dry-hopped Cold IPA.
“To even call it “double dry-hopped” seems a bit of an understatement because our brewers have added ridiculous amounts of hops during the following processes…

Encino9
Hand-Brewed Beer is cruising towards their 9th anniversary and are throwing the traditional party along with special brew for the occasion, an Encino DIPA for the community.
MacLeod Made it to 9
MacLeod Ales, despite being declared nearly dead last year, has risen up and now has reached the 9 year mark. That is probably an even better reason than just reaching year 9 so pick a location ( OG Van Nuys or Highland Park) and get a proper English pint and raise it in the air.

Highland Park Brewery is heading toward their 9th anniversary soon which means two things.
- A High 9 IPA
- A weeklong celebration from March 16th through March 21st with special can releases, a bottle release, limited draft only High 9 variant, food specials
Plate 9
My lucky number is 9 and this year it is Pacific Plate Brewery’s lucky number too as they celebrate their 9th Anniversary in Monrovia. And they have a special beer ready, Black Obsidian – “A bourbon barrel coffee stout that hits all the right notes. The beer was aged in Heaven Hill bourbon barrels creating a final product that is rich in vanilla, chocolate, coffee and bourbon.”
Smog #9
Smog City has rolled with the punches when it comes to their 9th Anniversary and have decided to go big and celebrate over multiple days! Below is the week plans per the brewery…
– The release of Kumquat Saison, our beer brewed in partnership with Food Forward The beer will be available in 4-pack cans for pick-up at all taproom locations, delivery, and shipping in California starting 5/14. $22/4-pack.
– Awesome Smog City anniversary party packs will be given out while supplies last with any purchase of a 4-pack of Kumquat Saison. That packs include: (2) Smog City cookies from Torrance Bakery, Smog City coloring pages, Smog City sticker, Coffee Porter compost, and a special anniversary card from Laurie and Porter! (1 per customer and while supplies last)
– A special Thursday night happy hour Zoom call hosted by Laurie & Porter call featuring Kumquat Saison, Food Forward, a beer cocktail making lesson, and lots of old photos! The call will be on 5/14 and starts at 6pm. Come join us for a good time and to learn about what makes Kumquat Saison such a special beer.
