Carnival!

On September 7th, fresh off the Crispy pilsner / lager event, the Long Beach Beer Lab is throwing a carnival of 8th anniversary fun.

Literally, their Wrigley neighborhood taproom will become a Carnival of Curiosities, with Carnival-Themed Games, Music, Face Painting, a Bounce House, Popcorn & Cotton Candy plus a Mustache Contest.  And of course beer.

Off by Eight

Offshoot Beer Co. has now reached the eighth year milestone and with that comes  ‘8,’ an 8% Double Hazy IPA loaded with lupulin from Garston Hops that the brewery describes as “unfiltered for a creamy, juicy experience, packed with tropical berry, peach, and sweet pine flavors, all boosted by a double dry-hopping of four unique hops!”

R.I.P. – Trustworthy Brewing

Add another casualty to the brewery list as Burbank’s Trustworthy Brewing Co. will arrive at their 8th anniversary and then close up for good at the end of January.

So on Saturday, January 25th, it will be a bittersweet party from 12 PM to 10 PM.  Below are the details….

“We will have our VIP section from 12-2pm. Tickets will be $39 and will include:

Unlimited drinking for the entire 2 hours

2-4pks of your choosing

Bottle of a sour or barleywine

Logo Pint Glass

Starting at 2pm doors will be open to everyone and we’ve got some exciting things planned including free raffles and discounts on everything!

After the party we will be open every day until Friday the 31st which will be our final day. We’ll be doing special promos from now until our final day so keep checking back to see what each week’s deals will be.”

8 Frogs in Town

Frogtown is an area of Los Angeles that I would not have pegged for a brewery. Tiny streets, near the L.A. River, hemmed in by freeways. But Frogtown Brewery has made it work for eight years now and have a weekend party scheduled for the first weekend in October.

The ‘Yard is 8

Brewyard Beer Co. has reached their 8th Anniversary under the overpass in Glendale.  These guys throw a good party too.  So in addition to new beer and new collaborations there will be music and food and you might find a seat next to the Brewyard truck to sip your beer.

Give Them a Hand

Hand-Brewed Beer Co. have reached that magical age of 8 and they have teamed with the LA County Brewers Guild to add oomph (in the form of more breweries) to the party.

The event will be on Sunday, October 16 in Chatsworth alongside a selection of local food trucks, and a local artist bazaar! Tickets include a commemorative glass and unlimited tastings.
