Saturday, March 11th. That is when Monkish Brewing will hit the big 5 milestone.
Follow the Monkish Facebook page to get all the updates. If they are pouring any of their IPA’s, it could get very crowded, very quick.
Brux5
Looks like the band is getting back together at the 5 year anniversary as Brux, a beer both wild and domesticated will be coming back with what appears to be a Harry Potter styled lion patronus charging into and off of the label.
You can head to this cool website about Brux at I Think About Beer to refresh your memory.
Sunset 5
Maybe October 22nd is an auspicious day to start selling craft beer. Not only does Southland Beer celebrate that day but so is Sunset Beer Co.!
The Echo Park beer stop is throwing a 5th Anniversary Party. To pique your interest they have been hoarding some kegs so expect what they call a “wild” tap list. Considering some of the beer events they have thrown recently, that could have some really rare treats a week before Halloween.
Another Cinco
The (now) venerable Beer Belly in Koreatown is turning 5 this year!
And they pull no punches when it comes to what is on tap. Plus they love wings. Even Volcanic ones that would make my head explode.
Do yourself a favor and head over (it is Metro adjacent) and you will find yourself trying to choose between too many great beers.
Just check out this initial list…
Beachwood BBQ & Brewing- 8 Buffalo
Lost Abbey- Red Poppy (2016)
Modern Times- Strawberry Hibiscus Fruitlands
Craftsman- Cuvee de Masumoto
Monkish/Beer Belly collab- Mind of a Peach
Eagle Rock- Yearling (CBC2016 winner)

Tony’s Darts Away – 5
Midnight IPA and a “Sour Easter Sunday” will ring in the 5th momentous anniversary of Tony’s Darts Away on April 4th and 5th.
I can’t remember what Burbank without Tony’s was like. And that means that Golden Road and Mohawk are even younger! For those who haven’t made the trip to Magnolia Boulevard for an anniversary, each hour from 10am to 7pm brings a new beer on tap. And not just “any” beers mind you, but aged beauties like:
Hangar 24 – Pugachev’s Cobra (2014)
Firestone – Parabola (2013)
Lost Abbey – Bourbon Barrel Angel’s Share (2014)
Russian River – Consecration
Russian River – Supplication
Lost Abbey – Spontaneous Cheer (2013)

ERB is 5
Special 5th year glassware was broken out to celebrate the Eagle Rock anniversary occasion along with a the beers on tap in three different locations in the brewery…
ERB Turns 5!
All I can add to that poster is that if you live in LA and love beer and haven’t been to an anniversary party yet. Well then, you need to get to work and help celebrate a milestone in LA craft beer.
Don’t miss it! Special treats include AleSmith Brewing Company and Kern River Brewing Company who sent over special beers for the celebration. Why those two breweries, we’ll both Eagle Rock and Kern use hand me down AleSmith equipment.
Plus there will be the debut of their very own 5-year anniversary beer! Populist XL.
5 Years in One
I could not believe it when I read the label for this new Cigar City beer. Really? They hadn’t brewed anniversary beers. I don’t know if that is refreshing or dereliction of duty. Either way good to see the New Zealand hops in force.
