In the Rafters

NBA Season is fast approaching and as I fervently wish that my Trailblazers start strong one team in the Association has finished strong, the Boston Celtics (my Dad’s favorite team).

They also have a great beer partner in Jack’s Abby that has a Celtics beer with a great name….

Maybe a Portland brewery will be able to create a Second Banner Belgian Dubbel in the future.

Petri Dish

Science.  A large part of beer making.  Which is why the name and label of this new Long Beach Beer Lab beer is so great. King of the Petri Dish is a West Coast IPA collaboration with King Harbor Brewing using Citra incognito, cryo and mosaic Hops.

Here is the beer description, “This experiment is super fresh with aromatics of grapefruit, wine must, and diesel dankness. On the palate flavors of white bread, grapefruit, orange, smooth bitterness, crisp carbonation and a clean dry finish.”

It Really Does

I am quite surprised that this beer name hasn’t been used way more, especially here in Los Angeles, I guess that travel from the Santa Clarita area to NoHo can generate it for sure.

Traffic Sucks is the first collaboration between Lucky Luke and Lawless. It “is a snappy hop forward lager. Brewed with Strata hops, this golden clear lager is bursting with passion fruit, apricot and strawberry notes along with hints of the hop plant’s party animal cousin (we’ll let you figure that one out).”

Uniform

If you have Soccer Pants then you need Football Shorts right?  ⁣

Ambitious Ales took the hazy soccer and then made a “clean and clear version ” with the same hop bill and a similar grain bill from Soccer Pants Hazy IPA.  Which returns what the brewery calls an “ultra crisp West Coast out of it with Strata, Mosaic and Southern Passion hops. “

Tempo Stack

Russian River Brewing and hops go together like peanut butter and jelly.  You may have seen their posts on social media from the hop fields and timed to that are two hoppy options that others may have seen but are brand new to me.  Mosaic Stack and the metronomed Tempo Change.
