PRSC, the People’s Republic of South Central has their own BiB beer. And the label is striking and glamorous and beautiful. Almost makes one want to drink straight from the can despite IPAs needing to be in a glass.
Follow Sean Inman to the best in craft beer
These are the beers that I wish I could taste for the first time.

Black Is Beautiful is back with Volume 2. It will be a hazy IPA and Samuel Adams has teamed with their own Angel City to lend support to Weathered Souls the lead of this project to bring awareness and some donations to the National Black Brewers Association.
Portland not only has the Trailblazers, we now have a G-League affiliate, the Rip City Remix and they have their PDX debut tonight!
And they have an eponymous beer as well. Rip City Remix IPA brewed by Backwoods Brewing. “a straightforward IPA that is brewed with experimental hops that creates a 3 pointer of flavors, including cherry, melon and citrus!”
Gonna have to find a way to get a 4-pack down here to Glendale.
If I were doing a N/A beer, I would certainly use big flavors or loads of hops. AleSmith is going the big flavor route with a non-alcoholic version of their flagship Speedway Stout.
SoCal gets a nice amount of Fremont Brewing beers and they are collaborating again with a local brewer, this time Beachwood Brewing. The resulting beer is Tidal Track IPA. Look for “aromas and packed hop flavors from Mosaic, Citra, Centennial Cryo, and Chinook hops.”
The mini Tiki renaissance continues with a Zombie IPA from Lagunitas.
The Tiki Fusion Zombie is an “exotic fusion of flavors has been crafted to conjure cocktailian notes of orange juice, fresh lime, grapefruit, & allspice; and brewed without summoning any (liquor) spirits. Our homage to the original Zombie and tiki movement, both created in our home state of California.”
Athletic Brewing gets a lot of business press for their rise into N/A stardom but they should also get some kudos for their increasingly clever and exotic flavors like their new Citrus Cacao Hazy IPA.
“This brew beautifully blends tart citrus flavor with a mellow sweetness of cacao fruit juice. This isn’t the dark chocolate brew you might be expecting – cacao juice is derived from the sticky pulp surrounding the cacao seeds of the plant that provides a subtle sweetness similar to coconut water, but more tropical. Aromas of grapefruit and lemon make an appearance, adding a sunkissed vibe.”
I suggest checking their beer selection at regular intervals.
Got a Cold IPA collaboration out there for you to find, Pizza Port and Topa Topa have created EnSea.
Agua Fresca IPA. OK, that is a new twist for sure, maybe not for Bottle Logic Brewing. Might be an interesting beer especially if the hop bill can compound the interest of the fruit notes brought via the fresca part of the beer.
Cellarmaker Brewing Co. has some cool 10th Anniversary beers with SoCal connections….
Czech GPT, now that is a cheeky use of the versatile Czech as pun generator. Plus a darn good trio of breweries for a pale lager.
Then Blaze Runner with Alvarado Street and Green Cheek. That is four killer collaborators.
