The first beer package is from Malt and Vine in the state of Washington.
Some of these are for cellaring, some for the 50 Beers from 50 States and some for special occasions.
50 from 50 – New Jersey & Illinois
Two new beers from two heretofore unknown (to me) breweries.
First up is the selection for the Garden State from Cricket Hill Brewing.
Then we head to one of the midwest’s hot hop spots, Illinois for a taste of weiss from Two Brothers Brewing.
Vintage Estate Wine & Beer
Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin have great beer scenes. One way to gauge that is by how many wine stores are adding more and more beers or in the case of Vintage in Ohio, adding a whole new tasting room.

50 from 50 – Maryland & New Hampshire
Clipper City has a great special series of beers under the moniker, Heavy Seas. Here is my review of the imperial pilsner.
Then I travel via the highway of beer to New Hampshire for a first taste of Smuttynose. Since I am an IPA freak, I selected their regular version. Hopefully, I will build on this with more beers from the Smuttynose folks.
50 from 50 – Idaho
Idaho has some great craft brew. Unfortunately, not a lot of great craft brew distribution. Grand Teton has a larger territory and I picked up a DIPA that may have been past it’s prime. If I had drunk it a couple of weeks earlier, the review would probably be better.
50 from 50 – Louisiana
Abita is probably the best known of the Louisiana breweries but their Christmas Ale is not usually seen here in California. So it gets the nod for the Bayou beer.
50 from 50 – Colorado
Brand new beer in a style that New Belgium isn’t known for, until now.
50 from 50 – Ohio
This is a big beer. Don’t let the cartoon frog on the label fool you.
Beer Haul from Halftime
In my quest to have a beer from each state, I have been buying beer from new sources. First was Bruisin’ Ales from North Carolina. Now it is Half Time Beverages from New York.
Here is what I got!
50 from 50 – Georgia
For some reason, when I see Terrapin, I think Maryland. But it is direct from Athens, Georgia. It’s the 13th beer checked off the list!
