ArcticCan (and bottle)

Whilst wandering through Vroman’s Bookstore in Pasadena, I ran across a Corksickle display. Now I thought that they just did the one product, an icicle shaped chilling device that you jammed into a bottle. Apparently they have been creating a lot. Such as the ArcticCan

The base unscrews and can be frozen cold in your freezer before re-attaching to the holder. Drop your bottle or can in and chilled from the bottom up. Seems a little more hygienic and helpful on hot California days.

Messenger Bag of Beer

It appears that we here in America need larger and larger (and hidden) alcohol. And we need it piped into our mouths. Meet Hydrosatch. 50oz of liquid can be held in this backpack meets messenger bag.

The bag also has what they call “sleeves” to hold other items so even when you have sucked all the contents out, you can still carry more cans if you want.

Not for me, but I am not Mr. Active, so not the target market am I.

SRM Wear

Wanna show your next level, Cicerone style knowledge of beer? How about sporting a colorful t-shirt representation of the Standard Reference Method (SRM). Basically, what color is my beer. Would make for a great selfie with your next beer. You can buy one HERE.

Beach Shoppe

No, you cannot order beer to be delivered when you go to the new Beachwood Brewing online shop. But, you can now order t-shirts and hats and other sundry items to be delivered to you, or as gifts. Keep in mind the next time you have a birthday coming up for the beer geeks in your life.

And since you will be on the site, you can check out their event page too.

Pre-Calc

A little pre-knowledge can go a long way. It can be helpful to have a device to figure out what your Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) is after you have had a beer or three, but what if you want to prepare before?

Well, I just noticed tucked away on the CraftBeer.Com website a handy little tool that can give you some approximate BAC levels so that you can plan a tap take-over or special release a little smarter.

Check out the calculator HERE.

Obviously, this is an estimate. But it is helpful to run scenarios.

Re-Crowler

Looks like the next packaging step is close to upon us…..

Oskar Blues has taken that step by adding a new lid and cap to the traditional crowler. Will this put the final nail in the growler? Or can both coexist?

Jetsons Furniture

I am skeptical when it comes to beer gear. I prefer to spend geek out over glassware or ingredients and not some fancy way to open a bottle.

That being said, this is a pretty cool and futuristic way to chill beer and make your regular Untappd check-ins….

Not sold on the name Sobro though. Sounds like a Ikea’fied version of So Bro! That has not stopped backers of the prototype though which has screamed past its flexible go with months to spare.

Plus you can put your beer books on it.

Keg Dolly

There are times in my beer journey where I see a piece of equipment that blows me away in how it makes getting craft beer into a glass easier.

When I first saw the “flux capacitor” at Beachwood was one such a-ha! moment, and even simpler is this….

…the keg dolly. I have seen kegs wrestled with, sorta loaded onto hand trucks and pushed and pulled inside coolers but until recently, I had not seen this great little solution.

Maybe I haven’t been paying attention but I expect that I will be seeing them more now.
