Tomorrow night, the beers of noted brewer Jeff Bagby from his eponymous Bagby Beer Co. will take over the taps at the Glendale Tap.
Not to say a drive to the brewery wouldn’t be great but Glendale is bit easier for us L.A. beer fans.

Before 2020-2022 happened, I had tired of the festival and tap takeovers but I am surprised that both are in my sights again for 2023.
And one place that has a couple tap takeovers already this year that have been very strong, that would be Hop Merchants in North Hollywood, one of my regular can buying haunts.
So, follow them on the socials to see if the continue the trend started with Other Half and Radiant.
I would recommend driving out of Los Angeles to check out Casa Agria’s tap room (among many in the area) but if you wanna stay in town then Southland Beer will be pouring a mini-tap takeover of beers….
On tap:
Slammin’ at the Club – American lager
Summer in the Streets – hazy IPA
Bliss and Death – west coast IPA
Unseen Dreams – wild ale with apricots
Brewport Tap House in El Segundo has expanded their footprint on Main Street and they must have expanded taps because they have 40 Sierra Nevada beers a’coming on the 5th. If any of the beers in the image are ones you are looking to tick, then head out on Thursday.
It is always fun to welcome in breweries from other states and on the 25th, Southland Beer in K-Town will be bringing the Arizona brewed beer of Wren House to Los Angeles.
And as a special bonus beer from Arizona Wilderness will be on tap too!
Thanks to the new production facility in Windsor, Angelenos have been getting a nice, steady supply of beer from Russian River Brewing. And that means that we will probably see more tap takeovers, like the one coming up at Mohawk Bend on August 29th.
As that date gets closer, check the social media to see if any tap list emerges but I would recommend starting with STS Pils.
If you have not found the time in the new year to visit the now open Craft Beer Cellar in Eagle Rock, well, I have an excuse for you….
“On Saturday, January 9th from 4-8p we’re hosting our first of many Second Saturday Sessions and to kick the year off right who better than Eagle Rock Brewery to take over our tap room! The Eagle Rock crew will be in the house and some awesome beer will be pouring from the taps, like Manifesto, their Witbier style beer, Stimulus, their Belgian-style Amber with Intelligentsia Coffee, and a bunch of their delicious core lineup. As if that wasn’t enough, Eagle Rock Brewery Public House will also be offering some of the delicious munchies! All Eagle Rock Brewery Beer bottles to-go will be offered on sale with 10% off!”
And if you read that whole paragraph, the other easter egg is the fact that the Public House will be providing some foodie treats. Great way to kill two beer birds with one visit.
In 2014, I think I hit 10 or 11 of the Beer Belly One Night Stands and this year, they have another killer line-up of local breweries coming to Koreatown…
And it all kicks off tomorrow night!
Blue Palms will be hosting Dogfish Head this Wednesday, February 5th with a large list of off-centered ales from Delaware. Check out the list….
