A “normal” tap takeover in Los Angeles involves either IPA’s or a local brewery so when I saw the following for Select Beer Store, I was happy to see that it contained neither….
A flight of Belgian beers from the esteemed St. Bernardus would be delightful on a hot winter day.

The second time in less than a week that I have seen a new beer that is a lager with lime.
(Thank goodness limes are not being added to IPA’s yet). King Harbor Brewing has teamed with the near-ish by Select Beer Store to bring a summer brew to the South Bay.

If I was closer, I would be visiting Select Beer Store the bottle shop/tap room much more often but maybe this will get me to take the drive from Glendale….

Saturday, November 19th – Tap takeover with Jolly Pumpkin and North Peak. Ron Jefferies, the Master Brewer of both breweries will be here from 6-9 for a meet and greet. Ron is a master of both clean and funky beers and
we’ll be showcasing the breadth of his talents on draft we’ll also have a good variety of bottles on hand as well.
Wednesday, November 23rd – A night before Thanksgiving event with Pizza Port
Sunday, December 4th – We’ll be celebrating Firestone Walker 20th birthday. We’ll be reaching deep in the cellar for this one and we will be pouring verticals of their Anniversary Ales, Parabola, Sucuba and other great beers
Chili X 4
Select Beer in Redondo Beach will host their 4th Annual Chili Cookoff event tomorrow at their wonderful bottle shop and tap room on PCH.
The following breweries will be preparing not only beer but chili for the glory of victory:
King Harbor, Brouwerij West, Phantom Carriage, Arts District, Three Weavers (has a chance to be the first two-time winner as well), HopSaint Brewing, Strand Brewing, Smog City Brewing and El Segundo Brewing.
Beer Camp is a Coming
You will see the Sierra Nevada name popping up at your favorite beer watering holes as their Beer Camp packs (and kegs) start arriving.
One such event is at Select Beer….
This will be a chance to get a 50% taste of some breweries that normally don’t sell here. Plus there is the SoCal beer collaboration to celebrate too.
Third Select(ion)
Starting tomorrow, Select Beer Store in Redondo Beach will celebrate their 3rd anniversary with a long weekend blow-out.
Thursday brings the collaborative beer Select Monk 3, a tripel naturally, that was brewed with Monkish Brewing in nearby Torrance and then their “favorite LA and Orange County breweries” will be on tap for your pleasure along with food from the Barley Hops Grill.
