On the Radio

This may not be cool to say but I loathe the Bohemian Rhapsody song by Queen. Almost as much as the godawful American Pie song. But I will grant a pass for The Dudes’ Brewing Company who have branded a beer with the radio station 95.5 KLOS by the name of “Bohemian Hopsody”.

It is part of the two trends the new “Unfiltered” and last year’s session-style IPA. This melodic themed beer uses Mosaic, Simcoe, and Citra hops in a 5% ABV brew.

I haven’t been a huge fan of previous beers from the Dudes but maybe this will mark a shift.

Can you handle the truth?

Being a huge Portland Trailblazer fan, I have longed for more Blazer themed beers in Beervana. I mean, come on, one of best players was Terry Porter. Pun happy brewers could have a field day with that.

Well now, we are getting closer, Laurelwood Brewing (home of Deranger and Vinter Varmer) has brewed “Bald Faced Truth Teller Ale” which is the name of both a radio show and a charity helmed by Blazer beat writer John Canzano. The Bald Faced Truth Foundation funds extracurricular activities for kids by offering grants to children who wish to participate in the areas of arts, music, drama, education, athletics and other enriching activities.

Beer on the radio

The fine folks behind the Dionicess events that have added immeasurably to the LA Beer scene got some well deserved press and recognition for their latest adventure during LA Beer Week.

Tom Leykis invited the DIO crew to the Tasting Room show to talk about craft beer in LA and what events are coming next.

The Brewing Network

Every day I am pleased to find more beer information on the web, today is no different. The Brewing Network is a great resource for brew information. Based in San Francisco, but not afraid to venture further afield. They have a great website, radio show and home brew show. Anyone who enjoys beer will find something great here.

You can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
