Hope get another close up with Dan DiSorbo’s upcoming book, The Book of Hops.

Rocky Mountain Photo High


I am a big proponent of beer travel but sometimes you have to settle for viewing where other people have been.

I haven’t visited Colorado too much just enough to whet the appetite so the coffee table book “Discovering Colorado Breweries” by photographer Dustin Hall will have to fill in the gaps of my travel.

The photography book documenting Colorado breweries will be released on January 20, 2018.

Hall spent nearly four years of photographing Colorado craft breweries and in 2016 launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the book’s printing.

Look for photos of Avery Brewing Company, Baere Brewing Co., Black Project Spontaneous & Wild Ales, Call to Arms Brewing Company, Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project, Great Divide Brewing Company, Mockery Brewing, Renegade Brewing Company, Ska Brewing Company, Left Hand Brewing Company and Odell Brewing Company.

The book retails for $49.99.

Your Beer Photos Under your Glass

Have you ever seen one of your beer photos.  I mean really looked at it and thought, that is a mighty fine picture.  The composition, the lighting, the subject matter all coming into focus (as it were).  But who do you show it to?  There is Untappd and Instagram (if you are into that) but what about something physical and permanent.  Then Coastermatic is the place for you.  They turn your photos into functional coasters.  Which you can then photograph and get made into more coaster if you are into that existential sort of thing.

Picture the Brewers of California

I first ran across Nick Gingold and his brewmaster photographs at the Firestone Walker Invitational last year.  Yes, it was in the shade of that scorching day but the artwork was quite stunning and I liked seeing the brewers behind many of my favorite beers and now….
“California BrewMasters is a coffee table book in the making featuring interviews and portraits of some of California’s star brewers. Over 45 in total up and down the state! In these interviews you’ll get to meet the folks responsible for some of your favorite California brews, learn about their brewing history, philosophies behind brewing, home brew tips & tricks, thoughts on the industry and so much more. We photographed each portrait on location at either the brewery or surrounding communities to bring you a look at where these brewers live and work.”

But here is the “kicker”,  Gingold needs a successful  fundraising campaign on Kickstarter.com to make the book a reality.  Make a donation and we can all see our beloved Cali brewers memorialized in book form.

Summit # 10 with the LA Beer Bloggers

2014 is off with a bang for the L.A. Beer Bloggers.  Last month we got a sneak peek at where Ohana Brewing will be setting up a taproom while also going a little behind the scenes of 38 Degrees and the Full Pint.

And this month, we tackle the topic of beer photography.  From the perspective of the great Bernie Wire, from a brewery owner standpoint and from a marketing rep view.  Should be interesting, plus it will be at Smog City which has a few good beers, to say the least.
