Travelin’ for Beer

If you are like me, you are thinking about any sort of travel and then thinking about beer travel.

A helpful series of guides is coming from SD Beer News starting with a round-up of breweries in Palm Springs.

Now I wouldn’t head out to Palm Springs until December since it do tend to get a tad hot out there but the guide is well written with good info on the breweries as well as standout beers.

I am looking forward to future installments.

Coachella has Craft too

untitled
Maybe Coachella will be now known for craft beer as well as overpriced music festival not that the 1st Annual Coachella Valley Beer Week (CVBW) has been scheduled for November 12 through November 22, this year.
Locals Erin Peters and Brent “Schmidy” Schmidman are the names behind the week. I know Erin through various beer blogging events and she has the cred to make this work. She has been blogging since 2008. That’s a year longer than me! Though the nickname Schmidy would be something I would not add to a press release, Schmidman is a former tavern owner, has started a “Beer School” and been part of the Valley’s first sanctioned homebrewer’s competition. Again, good credentials.

Events such as the Beer Goddess Brewmasters Dinner, the Indio BBQ & Beer Competition, new beer from Coachella Valley Brewing Company and beer a progressive beer crawl are on the agenda.

The coup de grace of the week is described as, the “Coachella Valley Beer Week culminates with the November 21 Props & Hops Craft Beer Festival at the Palm Springs Air Museum – a one-of-a-kind experience featuring more than 30 craft breweries, great food, live music and vintage plane flybys.”
