from Pelican Brewery in Pacific City, Oregon comes…
La Fleur Amère- With an abundance of floral, herbal hops and a rich, malty foundation, La Fleur Amère marries an assertive English-style IPA with exotic Belgian-style yeast. Brewed especially for the Oregon Brewers Guild’s “Cheers to Belgian Beers” event, but making a return appearance only at the Bite of Oregon, La Fleur Amère features a sparkling light gold color, an aroma of floral, earthy, herbal hops and a fruity, spicy yeast character. La Fleur Amère is dry-hopped with more than a pound of hops per barrel and finishes with a clean, snappy balance of malt flavor, hop bitterness, and slightly tart, spicy yeast character. ABV 7.% IBU’s 65 16.4 Plato
Vertigo Brewing
Another addition to the crowded but thriving Oregon beer scene is this Hillsboro based brewery.
Here is their current list of beers…
Cyclone Cream ale, Apricot Cream ale, Schwindel Alt, High-Altitude Amber, Razz Wheat & Friar Mike’s IPA.
These two guys started out home brewing then they just kept making more. The only logical thing to do was open a brewery.
I missed this place on my recent trip…
…and I am ticked off about it. Siskiyou Brewing in Ashland. They carry Caldera, Rogue and beer from the outback of Central Point, Oregon.
Beer & Desserts at McMenamins
The wonderfully, quirky folks at the McMenamin’s chain are also on the growing bandwagon of beer and desserts.
I just hope they don’t use their Jalapeno Wheat beer in a float.

Ninkasi
Ninkasi Brewing is located in Eugene, OR, and has been brewing high quality beers, in the Northwest style, since 2006. The Eugene location gives regional access to some of the highest quality brewing ingredients in the world, including pure cascade mountain water from the McKenzie River, Eugene’s sole municipal water source, and hops from the Pacific Northwest. Our focus is on flavorful, balanced beers, and we enjoy what we do. We are solely a production brewery, which allows us to fully devote our resources to creating the best beer possible. The overwhelmingly positive response we’ve received since or inception makes us very happy to be brewing in a region where people love great beer.
