Looks like the Glendale / Montrose area is getting a bar / gastropub by the name of John Sparr Tavern. I will update you on what beers they are pouring and how many. They have a high bar since We’re Pouring has taken craft beer and food up a big notch.

The non-stop team behind the animal themed bars of Surly Goat/Phoenix/Verdugo Bar/Blind Donkey are now headed to Sherman Oaks with The Woodman.
Departure name wise but you can bet the beer you crave will be on tap. It will be opening soon so keep your eye out on their Facebook presence for the latest details and hours.

One of the ongoing debates I have with beer buddy Richard is his love of TV’s at craft beer bars. Me I prefer to have my beer in peace. See it. Smell it. and hear it too. But with college football upon us and NBA in the near future, having “over 40 HD TV’s broadcasting” might be appealing.
At Hollywood and Vine, 33 Taps, will hopefully marry the sports with good food and good craft beer. I will be cautiously optimistic but they will need to do better than a “comprehensive choices of popular domestic and international brews..”, because Blue Palms is there a few steps away with street cred amongst beer geeks and sports too.
