I eagerly await each and every Short-Lived IPA collaboration from MadeWest Brewing in Ventura and I am super hyped that the next one is with Beachwood Brewing. Thankfully, my local Trader Joe’s has been a hook-up for me.

There are some barber shops that offer drinks along with a cut and maybe they should stock BarbersHop a West Coast IPA hopped with Mosaic, Strata, Simcoe and Krush from MadeWest Brewing in Ventura.

Described by the brewery as, “Light in body with a balanced bitterness, this IPA has aromas of juicy blueberry, pink bubblegum, and mandarin orange.”
No shade being thrown but I am glad that MadeWest Brewing reached past California for their latest Short-Lived IPA collaboration. Next up is Maui Brewing and the hops are going tropical as is the lovely can label…

This month, let’s climb the ABV ladder. Starting in the 4’s and working all the way up into the 12’s! We will also climb the state of California from San Diego through to Ventura.
MadeWest Ventura Lime Light Lager – 4.2% – the original “Golden, full-flavored light lager made with the finest ingredients to achieve a clean crisp refreshing finish.” plus lime.
Pizza Port / Tarantula Hill Ultimate Rush IPA – 7% – “Brewed with a generous heap of dank hops, this West Coast ripper floods the senses with notes of Sauvignon Blanc grapes, bright lemon zest, mango skin, chopped papaya, kumquat, and stone fruit. The finish is dry and resiny, loaded with citrus zest and dank pine…”
North Park Quadrangular Quad IPA – 12% – “This quadruple dry-hopped Hazy Quad IPA boasts an impressive lineup of Mega Terps, Krush, Manilita, Peacharine, Citra, Waimea, Nectaron, and Nelson Sauvin, which offer aromas of fruit punch, pineapple, and lime peel. Consider yourself warned – this one packs a 12% ABV punch hidden amongst flavors of red berries, guava, and pineapple fruit leather.”
If you are ticking every MadeWest Short-Lived IPA, well there is a new one. ISM Brewing (serial collaborators, them) are the newest…

The new Short-Lived IPA is out in distribution.

Shred Beer joins MadeWest for a West Coast IPA that “has a vibrant hop character loaded with berries, stone fruit and a rich resinous finish” and a real long list of hop products, including Simcoe, Simcoe Cryo, Strata, Strata Hyperboost, Mosaic, Mosaic Cryo, Krush, Krush Cryo.
Ventura’s MadeWest Brewing Company has reached their so set sail on February 8th.

Once again, more collaboration brews in the news but this time it is a home and away combo from MadeWest Brewing. First with Tarantula Hill Brewing in Thousand Oaks on California Street and then with Fremont Brewing of Seattle on the latest Short-Lived IPA.

Looks like taste test will be in order.
Every brewery, back in the day, would celebrate not only anniversaries but also when they reached batch number milestones. You don’t see it as much anymore but MadeWest has their Batch 1000 out now, “a triple dry hopped triple hazy IPA featuring Citra, Nelson and Idaho 7 hops.” With “aromas of tangerine, pink cotton candy and ripe mango.”

Usually when I post about MadeWest Brewing Company and collaboration and IPA, I mean the latest installment of their Short Lived series. But Wave Pattern is different.

Yes, it is “an easy drinking IPA, over-flowing with aromatics of guava, bubblegum, ruby grapefruit zest and pine resin! And with a malt bill consisting of Rahr Northstar Pilsner and flaked wheat” but this is an El Segundo Brewing beer done with MadeWest and not vice-versa.
This new West Coast IPA is filled with Strata, Simcoe, El Dorado and Riwaka hops.
