Recently, LA Beer Hop has expanded into wine tours and next on the list is the added stop of 101 Cider House since they have a new spot in Downtown.
Also look for Kombucha stop to be added to cover practically all the bases.

LA Beer Hop has been ferrying beer fans all over the Southland and now they have a Juicy DIPA named in their honor, Hop on the Bus is brewed by Los Angeles Ale Works to celebrate the Beer Hop’s 7th year in operation. The beer uses Norwegian Kveik yeast and Idaho 7 hops and a new experimental hop called HBC 472.
All of us could walk a little more. Myself included more than once. And I certainly walk faster when beer is involved but LA Beer Hop has higher minded goals than a simple brisk walk. They have started Beer, Art and Culture (BAC) composed of…
“BEER – We walk to three breweries around Downtown that all have something incredibly unique to offer and do a beer tasting at each destination: Mumford (some of the highest rated beers in LA), Imperial Western (easily the prettiest brewery we’ve ever been to) and Arts District Brewing (a party favorite smack in the middle of the Arts District).
ART – Your Beer Guide will take you through the Arts District and give you a brief rundown of the history of the neighborhood along with introducing you to a few of the greatest and most Instagrammable pieces of wall art we have in LA.
CULTURE – Along our route, we’ll walk through the birthplace of Los Angeles – Olvera Street – and chat about the founding families of our city while we stop for the only churro that puts the Disneyland classic to shame.
Then, we’ll cruise through Little Tokyo to talk about the home of the largest Japanese-American population in North America while we grab some Mochi Ice Cream and marvel at the intricacies of the Japanese Temples. Then, we’re on our way to Mumford Brewing where we’ll enjoy a beer tasting and pizza pairing from Baldoria Pizza.
In the face of this months bad news when it comes to gender and beer, I am heartened by the fact that the L.A. Beer Hop has two weekends of female-centric beer tours set for March.
And I hope they do them all year long!
You may know Hal Mooney from the Beer Hop buses that tour breweries or his now L.A. famous Beer Hotline (855-LA-BEERS).
Add to that title, the beer guy for the MidiCi The Neapolitan Pizza Company.
He will be in charge of buying beer and beer education at their first location in Sherman Oaks and future locations as well.
Considering he knows about practically every brewery in LA, this could become a great craft beer and pizza stop.

After a pretty successful run during our most recent L.A. Beer Week, the DTLA Breweries United free shuttle service from brewery to brewery returns with the addition of Indie Brewing to the route. It’s a great way to visit all the breweries without navigating Alameda in a car.
The one thing to note though is that the shuttle ends on the nose. Which means if you are at Indie or Iron Triangle and your car is up in the Arts District or you are taking the Gold Line from the Arts District then you will be stuck on an island and calling for Lyft service. So take the rides to the further reaches and then work back.
If you aren’t “curd”led by April Fools then on April 3rd you can get cheesy. That is when LA Beer Hop teams up with Vagabond Cheese Company for a LA Cheese & Beer tour of three L.A. breweries. Stops include Mumford Brewing and Iron Triangle downtown and Eagle Rock Brewery. Alex Ourieff from Vagabond Cheese will have cheese to pair with beers at each destination. At ITB, a Raclette Service (think high class fondue) will be made available. Tickets Available HERE:
