Beer Bloggers, meet Ensenada Brewing Co.  Food Bloggers meet Colonia Taco Lounge.

Join us on Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 12 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. as we welcome Ensenada Brewing Co.  Cerveza Artesanal (craft beer) from Ensenada, Baja California – Mexico. Rep from this brewery will be present 3 of their beers and discuss the rise of craft beer in Mexico.

Red Agave IPA – 6.8% ABV

Smoked Piloncillo Porter – 6.0% ABV

Horchata Obscura – 6.0% ABV

What better way to combine the exquisite selection of Ensenada Brews, than pairing them with tacos? Not just any ordinary tacos, but the savory eats of renowed Angelino chef Ricardo Diaz. The mastermind behind Cooks Tortas, Guisados,  Bizarra Capital and now the newly opened Colonia Taco Lounge.  Chef Ricardo Diaz recognizes the importance of pairing his menu with artisan craft beer and employs a selection of taps that range between local beer, as well as imports at both Bizarra and Colonia.

#LABW5 Pick of the Night – Saturday 9/21

Each morning throught L.A. Beer Week, I will give you my Pick of the Night.  The ONE event I think rises to the top of the list.  Some days that choice will be harder and there might be 1A and 1B’s (if I get wishy-washy).  I will endeavor to pick events you can just head out to.  But if tickets are required, I will mention it.  But expect crowds.  Craft beer and craft beer in L.A. is popular.

For the first Saturday of L.A. Beer Week, head downtown and meet some beer bloggers (like me!) at Angel City……

Blogging about beer today is a bit like being thrown into the deep end of the pool.  So many beer choices and so many blogging platforms.  But how do you bring out the words into your head and translate that into a really great blog?

That is what will be talked about in the lovely Angel City space in downtown L.A. on the 21st.  The L.A. Beer Bloggers have gathered an eclectic group of panelists to chat about writing, beer and blogs.

FoodGPS Teaser – Bloggers at Firestone

Thanks to the largesse of the folks at Firestone-Walker, our humble band of L.A. Beer Bloggers caught a bus at Union Station early on a Saturday morning and made the trek to Paso Robles to partake in the beer culture created by David Walker, Matt Brynildson and the rest of the F-W crew.

I will use words in tomorrow’s FoodGPS post to paint a summarized picture of the weekend, but here are the final set of photos from that epic journey….
