The next beer doesn’t sound very festive. Sounds more like danger and mopping but Prairie Artisan Ales has fashioned a sour ale with all the holiday spices sure to liven up a Christmas gathering.
In the Tap Lines for December 2019
Now we get into the meat of the holiday ales. Each day until Christmas there will be a new holiday beer to learn about along with other beer-y tidbits from both Los Angeles and the world.

Here are two events to get your December started in the Los Angeles craft beer world:
1) December 7th – Brewyard’s 4th Anniversary Pajama Jammy Jam

Christmas Beer 2019 # 3 – de Garde The Laws of Winter
If the ingredient list on this winter beer doesn’t make you want to cozy up under a blanket and watch the snow, well then, I cannot help you. I understand why this beer from de Garde is limited but I wish I could just pick one up.
Christmas Beer 2019 #2 – Angel City Faux Snow
To DTLA we go for our second holiday beer…
Angel City adds in a pair of off the beaten path items to this new winter IPA.
2018 Holiday Beer # 30 – Home for the Holihaze from Pure Project
We are close to the 2018 finish line, here is the next holiday ale…
A canned San Diego IPA from Pure Project.
2018 Holiday Beer # 17 – Situational Ethics from Monday Night Brewing
Nice and naughty lists meet your ethics….
Coming from the Garage Series of beers from Monday Night Brewing, this beer is a “decadent imperial stouts aged in different barrels. This one just happens to be our Maple-rum barrel aged variety. We combined fresh ginger, nutmeg, Vietnamese cinnamon, cloves and Tahitian vanilla beans for that classic gingerbread aroma and flavor.”
2018 Holiday Beer # 6 – Xmas Blend from Straffe Hendrik
We head out of country for our next holiday beer….
Straffe Hendrik from Bruges in Belgium has their Xmas Blend II. The beer is a Belgian quadrupel aged in oak at a not insubstantial 11% abv.
Holiday Beer # 28 – Froth Bite from Alvarado Street
Best use a gloved hand to grasp the can for this “yeast driven” IPA from Alvarado Street, you don’t want to have the can stick to your hand.
Holiday Beer # 27 – Sound and Vision from Gigantic Brewing
Back to the colder climes of the PNW with a pale ale, winterized by Gigantic Brewing.
Holiday Beer # 22 – Hoppy Holidays from NoDa
Staying in southern climes and in the same IPA style we head to NoDa Brewing Co. for their Happy and Hoppy Holidays.
I prefer the Mrs. Claus can.
