We go a little tart with this Christmas entry from New Realm Brewing in Georgia. Tart’s Content is a Berliner Weisse with traditional holiday flavors to spice up the season.
Distance Christmas Beer # 10 – Warped Wing Holiday Lager and Abominator
Following up on yesterday’s duo, is a pair from Dayton, Ohio and Warped Wing Brewery. The spiced lager sounds great to me but the Dopplebock will be great as our SoCal weather coldens up a bit.
Distance Christmas Beer # 9 – Sam Adams Old Fezziwig & Chocolate Bock
A double dip of Sam Adams Christmas cheer in the shape of Old Fezziwig and Chocolate Bock in shiny new cans for 2020. Not in large supply though. But there is their Winter Lager to have.
Distance Christmas Beer # 8 – New Realm Short Days / Long Days variety pack
Three beers from their regular and past line-up for this New Realm winter pack, “you’ll find fan favorites such as #1 selling Hazy Like A Fox IPA, a New England-style hazy brew brimming with fruity notes, and Hoptropolis IPA, an American IPA that bursts with tropical flavors. Next to those, New Realm brought back Tart’s Content, which is a richly fruited Berliner Weisse that impresses the palate with its tart, bright citrus, and seasonal- spiced flavors. Rounding out the pack is Quadrupel Threat, a 10% Belgian-style Quadrupel ale that is new to New Realm’s portfolio”
Distance Christmas Beer # 7 – Stone’s 12 Days of IPA’s
12 days of any style of beer is better than the Yuletide song. Even better is a style master like Stone giving a gift of hops in upside down mode. Just the right size for a post present party.
Distance Christmas Beer # 6 – Bell’s Old Fashioned Holiday
Bell’s Brewery has conjured up a holiday cocktail that mashes up the not often seen Scotch Ale with Bourbon barrel-aging for an Old Fashioned, Mad Men take for the season.
In the Taplines for December 2020
Happy last holiday of 2020! The rollercoaster year started high and then Covid cases went higher so it is a tough time for breweries so make this a give beer as gifts year.

Distance Christmas Beer # 4 – Winter Ride from Trader Joe’s
Seems like Trader Joe’s has switched from the generic Winter Brew to a more whimsical Winter Ride. I tried this recently and for the Josephs Brau brand, it is pretty good I feel you don’t believe it is a Dopplebock. A tad too slight for that but it has a nice caramel taste to it. I would buy it again.
Distance Christmas Beer # 2 – The Bruery Barrel-Aged Twelve Days Collection
Day 2 of our keeping distant but staying in the holiday spirit is a big ol’ box of barrel-aged beers from The Bruery.
“12 years, 12 beers. This limited edition collection includes a 2019 version of all twelve of our original 12 Days of Christmas Series releases. From Partridge to Drummers, we’ve got you covered. We took the original recipes and created a fresh version for you to taste in this collectible box. Finish your collection, or try side by side with your original. Creating this box was no small feat, but conversely this release is extremely limited and available only once, every 12 years.”
Distance Christmas Beer # 1 – Deschutes Super Jubel
Let’s start the annual BSP Holiday Beer Tradition with a classic of the style (with a twist) from Bend, Oregon it is Deschutes Super Jubel….
Beer description: “Malt forward with notes of toasted caramel, raisins, dates and figs that are complemented by spicy and herbal hop aromas.”
