Want To Visit in 2022 Brewery # 3 – Drake’s Dealership

Who doesn’t like a beer garden, especially now when you can tuck yourself away in a corner with a beer and if you happen to be at the Drakes Dealership in Oakland, you can have a wood fired pizza along with your choice from over thirty taps.

Here are a few to tempt you to the bay…

Parma Pils – “Our Director of Packaging and Logistics, Anthony FINALLY brewed a beer. BIG PARMA created an Italian Pilsner for the masses. Enjoy this crispy dry-hopped pilsner which included a hefty dosing of Penne in the mash. We selected a gorgeous Noble hop called Saphir to dry-hop with. This hop gives aroma and flavors of tangerine, and a subtle herbal spiciness.”

Idaho 7 Days a Week – “Idaho 7, one of our brewers’ favorite hops, is going to be presented in a brand new way! Double dry-hop? Triple dry-hop? This extremely dry-hopped beer will explode your mind with the pungent fruity flavor you’ve ever had!”

Smashing Grass DIPA – “Enjoy pound after pound of sticky, resinous, high quality hops in this super dank West Coast Double IPA, including Delta, Simcoe, Citra, Cascade and Nelson Sauvin.”

Death of the Sun Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout – “Death of the Sun came the day the world went black. A beast of an Imperial Stout aged for over a year in the cosmic dark of Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrels. Notes of layered malt, dark fruit and chocolate tame its heat. A beer so good you will rejoice in its perpetual darkness.”

A Barn in West Sac

I have a lot of catch up, brewery wise in the Sacramento area but after seeing the photo above, I may just want to stay in The Barn that Drake’s Brewery is going to open.

“The Barn,” looks both old and space aged and somewhat Gehry-esque and with the open air aspect could be a great place to relax and enjoy a beer and some food.

Per the article on CraftBeer.com there will be indoor areas (pods) that will have pizza or cocktails.

Also there is “30,000 square feet of lawn, an outdoor bar, six fire pits and two stages for shows and concerts. The Barn will also include an in-house food truck called “Yo Lo, Slow and Low” (Yolo as in the county in which West Sac is located) which will feature tri-tip sandwiches. There is also space for six or more visiting food trucks.”

Raise the Jolly Rodger

Drakes Brewing from San Leandro first did a re-design of their core beers which are really good. Then the first bomber special, Denogginizer rolled into stores.

Now, we get the 2nd in the 22oz series! An imperial red. Even though, I am fast tiring of the “imperial”ization of beers as the only creative outlet, I will give this new Drake’s offering a go.
