I am always excited to see Portland beer in Los Angeles, maybe it’s the Beat L.A. mentality from growing up there. Everywhere Beer has teamed with the upcoming PDX brewery, Commensal Fermentation to create Broken Bread another West Coast IPA to try.
Broken Bread
I have posted about Broken Bread the PBS show hosted by Roy Choi of Kogi’s Food Truck fame before but season 2 is dropping and if you cannot see the parallels between food and beer, well, you just ain’t watching.
This season is only three episodes in and beer has been noted and places in L.A. to go for great under recognized food spots. Stay tuned because you will see future posts because of this great show.
And why isn’t there a Roy ChoIPA yet?
Broken Bread
I don’t talk to often about the non beer related life but since this is also a Los Angeles centered blog that also touches on food, I feel I am within boundaries to give a recommendation to the KCET/Tastemade/Roy Choi show, Broken Bread.
If you are not hooked by the first two episodes then, I do not know what to say. Food is the common language but the issues are all tied together in such a way that it seems they cannot be untied. But Choi has found people really making a difference and he got the Mayor to talk in non sound bites too. Check it out.
