Farmer’s Market Tavern

A nice quiet and underrated spot to have beer is the classic Farmer’s Market on Fairfax Avenue. Bar 326 and E.B.’s Beer & Wine pour a good mix of beers so you can go touristy and show off some local beers.

Beer will get a British twist as a new British pub will open next year by the name of Market Tavern. Premier League on the TV and a curated beer list which hopefully will have a cask engine and some ESB ready.

Stalking Horse

The Stalking Horse is kind of an ominous name for a new British pub themed venture but with the history of Tony Yanow in L.A. beer and with a brewer with Pizza Port experience on the resume, the former Steingarten spot could make West Pico a destination.

The brewer in question is Brandon Edwards who has returned to California after working at Columbus Brewing Co.

No specific beers have been talked about but the general starting place is “inspired by English traditions”. There will be multiple taps that will feature English style beer, and the 7-barrel system will be right behind glass for you to drink by. Brewing should be starting soon.

Not Lost Anymore

Looks like the Echo Park craft corridor has a new stop. The Lost Knight, a British Gastropub, has taken over the long standing Barragan’s restaurant space.

As you can see from the beer menu, they have a nice local mix. I would like to see more exports on the menu because good British beer is certainly a market to exploit in LA.

Further reports to come after I visit.
