Let’s get back within my driving radius with holiday beers from SoCal for a couple days. First is the Winter Ale from Smog City Brewing.
“A bold blend of fall-inspired flavors awaits: juniper and pine top notes, sweet caramel and toffee aromas, and a bright, citrusy spruce finish.
Crafted with hand-crushed juniper berries, spruce tips, and a complex layer of crystal malts, this winter warmer is perfect for cozy fireside sips or pairing with your holiday feasts!”
One explanation for Santa Claus getting all those presents delivered in one night, is multiple Santas. Gigantic Brewing in Portland is on the same wavelength when it comes to their 2024 winter warmer, Santa Clones.
“This collab with Weird Portland United is a deliciously malty, rich beer layered with caramel and a hint of dark fruit that’s crafted for cozy, festive vibes.”
Back to foreign shores with Siren Craft Brew and their winter IPA, Suspended in Mistletoe Hazy Pale Ale.
” Suspended’ is soft, hazy, juicy, packed full of hops and usually reserved for pints at your favourite pub. This keg features centennial hops.”
Pipeworks Brewing is on deck with their Gingerbread Unicorns.
You’ e got ginger and cinnamon and lactose and heck even some black pepper to spice up the party.
Our next gift is from your brewing friends at New Glory Brewing in Sacramento. We have Frosty Delight a hot cocoa marshmallow stout.
“This chocolate-forward stout delivers a decadent blend of rich cacao nibs, perfectly balanced with creamy vanilla and marshmallow flavors. Subtle notes of toffee linger in the background, bringing a rich, caramelized depth to every sip. It’s the perfect frosty delight for those who prefer their hot cocoa cold, and in a can!”
From one Portland to another, next up is Lone Pine Brewing and their Holiday Spruce Tip IPA.
This brewery also has a second, earlier winter release, Winter Carnival IPA.
This year I have roamed a little farther and found some new holiday beers to regale the season. One each day until Christmas. We will start, however, with a true evergreen. JubelAle from Deschutes Brewery.
“Embodying the spirit of celebration since 1988, Jubelale features notes of spice, a robust malt character, hints of toffee and dusted cocoa.”
Going east from SoCal we find colder snowier winters and possibly Frostbite, as in the Black IPA from Foothills Brewing.
“The official beer of Jack Frost. Skillfully blended barley and roasted wheat malts team up with a big blast of flavor and aroma from Pacific Northwest hops. The result? A Black IPA as refreshingly bracing as a cold winter day.”
Peppermint morphs into candy cane this time of year so no surprise to see it in a holiday stout from Ska Brewing in Colorado.
“A delicious Stout brewed with Animas Chocolate
Company Peppermint Bark – 55% dark chocolate layered with white chocolate and sprinkled with candy cane pieces.”
