A Podcast & A Beer – Jacked Ramsays

Time to dig into early season NBA basketball and my favorite team, the Portland Trailblazers. What better way to dissect each game and player? Jacked Ramsays.

For those who have yet to join the Blazer Bandwagon, Jack Ramsay was the coach when Portland won its only NBA championship in 1977.

Host Danny Marang talks all things Blazers from recaps of games to interviews with players. Hopefully, this season won’t be as up and down as the past few but then again, a podcast about a team that never loses would get old, right?

For the beer to pair with it, you could choose one associated with new coach Chauncey Billups or a Philly special since Portland is a rumored destination for disgruntled 76er defensive star, Ben Simmons.

But let’s throwback like the City Edition jersey and scream Rip City with a Riip Beer Co. beer from Huntington Beach. Order up a Krimson Killa Red Ale as Logo Lillard hits another deep three to down the Lakers.

In the Tap Lines for October 2021

header_attractionsI am a strict seasonalist.  No PSL before October. Partially due to being in LA where fall arrives late and we only get a sprinkling of fresh hop beers.  So hold off on your Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Let’s enjoy October first,

A Podcast & A Beer – Dolly Parton’s America

There are a few things in life that are universally loved. The recently returned for season 2 Ted Lasso and Dolly Parton. As we learn in episode one, Dolly’s Q Rating is through the roof but the more interesting note is that she gets virtually zero negative comments.

How she can do that while singing about topics like suicide and being pro-vaccine is the through line for the 2019 podcast series, Dolly Parton’s America.

What beers have that everyone admires it quality. Guinness and Orval and Saison Dupont are consistently well thought of but for Dolly, I think we need to find something closer to home. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is an iconic American craft beer but bitter is not Dolly so instead lets find some Kentucky Common styled beers or barring that find another classic like Yuengling or Shiner Bock.

A Podcast & A Beer – Gangster Capitalism

Series Three of Gangster Capitalism has arrived and it is all Falwell all the time. And a boatload of sex.

After tackling the fun topic of the NRA financial situation last time out, now they are following Jerry Falwell Jr. and his escapades and dirty with a capital D deeds at Liberty University. This series starts off with a pool boy in Florida and doesn’t let up after that.

Anchor Brewing Liberty Ale would be a good start or any summer ale that you would normally choose for a by the pool or at the beach day but instead let’s find beers from a women owned/brewed business. Because after hearing about how women are thought of and treated, you will really want to move the needle in the opposite direction.

A Podcast & A Beer – My Dad Wrote a Porno

For those who have not heard My Dad Wrote a Porno. Well, you have five seasons to catch up on because book six just dropped. And the trio behind the podcast teamed up with Alphabet Brewing Company on a trio of beers befitting the most porny podcast out there .

Now, the UK brewery isn’t shipping to America but you can substitute by finding a beer in your area made with chardonnay grapes, pomegranates or aged in gin barrels to drink along with the sexy adventures.
