Avid for Avocado

I am not into Avocado or guacamole which puts me into a minority here in Los Angeles. There is always an exception though, and for me it is the Avocado Ale from Angel City Brewery which I find to be an excellent summer drink.

This year is the twelfth edition of the Avocado Ale Fest in DTLA. Get there early as lines grow and try this summer tradition ale,

12 Dortmunders

I certainly hope you were not expecting Enegren Brewing to bring out a 12th Anniversary IPA.  Nope, only lager and pilsner guesses accepted.

This year, they are going for a Dortmund-Style Lager.  Sounds like a fun break from the norm to me.

Anniversary at the Beach

Beachwood Brewing is now up to their 12th year of brewing beer and will be celebrating not just at the Long Beach Location but in Bixby Knolls as well on Saturday, July 15.

Whats happening, you ask? “beer releases, food pop-ups, giveaways, live music, and more at our Downtown Long Beach and Bixby Knolls Taprooms. Plus, a free shuttle to bring everyone between both locations! We can’t wait to celebrate with everyone then.”

Find more details on the Beachwood Facebook events page.

May the 7th Be With You

Calendar time and also a blast from the past. Tony’s Darts Away is a great little spot in Burbank that I have not been to in a long time. Working from home instead of working in Burbank has dropped visits to the neighboring city down.

One of their yearly highlights was a midnight tapping of their Darts Away IPA and then a weekend of hourly special tappings.

Guess what? It’s back…

….and the IPA is from Beachwood! Follow their socials to see what goodies will be on tap and when.

Spell It

Eagle Rock Brewery is at the 12 years old mark this year, and that means time for an anniversary beer.

Here are the early details, “Umihumālua is a tiki-inspired IPA with orange, pineapple, and nutmeg. This punchy beer is sure to transport you to paradise with one sip!”
