Tine to get presents onto the sleigh or in the case of this beery advent calendar, for the beer to get loaded onto the truck. We might just need some German engineering here so we need to hook up Santa with brewery Landskron.
“The elegant festival beer for special enjoyment in the wintertime. A beer with a balanced aroma, in which the malt notes are harmoniously paired with floral hop scents. It promises a pleasure with a full, round body, in which a fine hop bitterness is perfectly integrated, and which ends with a full malt body.”
Getting near the end here, let’s add in a new beer from Bottle Logic Brewing and one of their pastry-esque beers with a memory, a Mulled Memory.
“Apple Brandy Barrel-Aged Mulled Golden Ale with elegant aromas of wintery apple cider curl from the glass of this Apple Brandy Barrel-Aged Golden Ale. A subtle wisp of lactose twists through the base, tethering the delicate apple character to a warming blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and citrus peel.”
Crack open another Cold IPA in the cold weather of winter with Frost Bite from Two Brothers Brewing…though I don’t know if sharks get it
“This delicious IPA was brewed with lager yeast and fermented at lower temperatures than what is normally used to ferment an ale. With the addition of some extra dry hops to create a crisp, clean taste!”
We head out to Eastern Oregon and Terminal Gravity Brewing Company for our next holiday beer, Festivale….
“Festivale is a classic TG rendition of a Winter Warmer. Brewed to be fairly dry, yet highly drinkable. With a complex malt and hop profile and a full, rounded, deep ruby colored body- Festivale is a winter favorite that rings true to a wide variety of beer drinkers.”
Yes, I am firmly in the pro-nog camp. What I am not so sure of is an egg nog IPA. But if presented with Do I Even Like Eggnog? from Kane Brewing, I would grate the nutmeg and give it a sip.
“This festive IPA was brewed with pilsner, wheat, oats, and lactose, and lightly hopped in the whirlpool. After dry-hopping, this holiday beer was conditioned on ground cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and bourbon-soaked vanilla.
Do I Even Like Eggnog? pours with a festive hazy gold color and combines a creamy citrus hop expression with notes of vanilla, nutmeg, and light bourbon holiday spice.”
Let’s have another Winter IPA because, well, everybody’s doing it. Literally, Everybody’s Brewing has Imaginary Friends.
“A true winter warmer. There is just enough body and hops in this beer to take the chill offf. Crystal and Chocolate Malta give this beer a wonderful Ruby color and a medium to full mouth feel. Generous amounts of Simcoe, citra, cascade hops really bring this beer to life!”
One week till the big day, time to say, get elated? With a winter IPA from Hi-Wire Brewing in Asheville.
“A balanced and hoppy ale perfect for snuggling up in front of the fire or getting outside on a snowy day. Celebrate the season with an India Pale Ale that doesn’t lack for pine and citrus peel notes from Michigan Chinook & Idaho 7 hops balanced by sticky caramel and toasted bread flavors from a carefully crafted malt bill.”
Off to the snows of Utah and the Wasatch Brewery for their take on the holiday ale which is not the norm, an imperial amber…
“Bundle up and get ready for an Imperial Amber Ale that you’ll reach for when the temps go down. Jump on the lift and crack open this deep red ale with a rich caramel malt backbone and an elevated fruity hop profile.”
Winter Warmer, to me, is synonymous with England and a pastoral pub, so let’s get a little British and say Happy Christmas with Wye Valley Brewery.
“An army of five malts bring forth this brew’s rich, smooth and nutty character. Local hops add balance and help make it a real Christmas cracker!”
