Books, beer and Burbank

Trustworthy Brewing is the meeting place for the newly formed Burbank Books & Brews bookclub.  It was organized by a Trustworthy bartender too.

The second Thursday of every month out on the back patio will be the reserved space and the books have been Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers by Jesse Q, Sutanto in November and on Thursday, December 14th the book is The Keeper of Happy Endings by Barbara A. Davis.  If those choices interest you, check it out.

Added Value

Trustworthy Brewing in Burbank has a 4th anniversary surprise for beer fans, Value of Time BBA Imperial Stout with Coconut. It is a big 12.6% ABV and according to the brewery “is our biggest barrel-aged stout yet. Aged for 12 months in Buffalo Trace barrels and blended with heaps of coconut. Smooth oak smokiness accompanied with caramel and coconut warmth go well with any evening plans.”

Mountain Towers

The mountains surrounding LA are a bit cluttered but there are local landmarks as well and Trustworthy Brewing is “paying homage to the radio towers on top of the Verdugo Mountains overlooking Burbank” with two DDH DIPA’s, one for each tower.

Tower 1 is brewed with Pilsner malt and heavily dry-hopped with Simcoe, Azacca, and Comet hops. Giving it a light color and sweet pineapple flavor. Tower 2 is brewed with 2-row malt and equally graciously dry-hopped with Mosaic and Azacca hops. Giving this beer a deep golden appearance and a sweet hoppy bitterness.
