New Look for Spring

Smog City Brewing along with Ryan Cochran, their label designer who brought to life the original labels and characters for Smog City IPA, Amarilla Gorilla IPA, Coffee Porter, and Sabre-Toothed Squirrel will be refreshing the art for 2023.  You can see a sneak of the IPA look below…

Amazing to realize that these beers were all originally released in 500ml bottles many moons ago.  I like the dominant blue look and the house style and whimsy is still there too.

Cool Beers and Labels for August 2021

It is hard to keep up with all the new beer releases. Sometimes you just have to filter to style or hop or…

…the color green. It is my wife’s favorite color so it now catches my eye as well and these two LA breweries are using it very well. Crac Brewery has a dramatic two tone look for a Tequila barrel-aged Gose with a clever name. Has a blade like look down the middle which accentuates the font.

Brouwerij West has taken their Popfuji pilsner and brand extended it for the Nelson hop. Replacing the Pop yellow with, again, two-tone green. The slight name change with the color swap is a nice way to create a beer series.

Holiday Ale # 1 – Jubelale from Deschutes

Deschutes_Jubelale_12oz_Labels_OL

Deschutes Brewery has been adorning their Jubeale labels with new artwork each year.  They also seem to be releasing it sooner and sooner.  Hence it is first in line because it might be off shelves for a January seasonal soon.  I’m kidding, I think.

Here is the brewery description, “Warm spiciness and tradition grace this bold winter ale. Intriguing, layered flavors unfold to reveal chicory, dried fruit and toffee notes with a hoppy kick to finish. The deep garnet color pairs perfectly with holiday celebrations.
