Virtual Course Work

L.A. Beer Hop wants to take you to summer school. They have announced an eight week virtual beer school. This might just be the best class that you take. I bet you will learn a nugget that will amaze friends at parties (when we have them again) and the beer you bring to those parties will be better.

Save the Bus

It is growing increasingly scary for the beverage and food industry here in Los Angeles but if we band together, we can help bridge the gap for those people who are so important to beer fans here.

One of those is L.A. Beer Hop that basically saw their service halted. If you can, I fully understand that cash is tight, please help out. Click HERE to read about what swag and deals you can buy with your donation.

Women in Beer Tour

On March 29th, L.A. Beer Hop will put the spotlight on Women’s History Month with a special tour featuring three breweries in the Downtown Los Angeles area. Here are the details….

Each stop will highlight a guest speaker, including:
– Brewmaster Devon Randall, who operates three breweries for the Pouring with Heart restaurant group at Imperial Western Beer Company in DTLA
– Brewer Kim Rice at Sage Organic Bistro and Brewery in Echo Park
Amber Sawicki, production brewery at Boomtown Brewery in the Arts District

This beer tasting adventure departs from Union Station in Downtown. Tour lasts 4-5 hours and will be guided by Certified Cicerone® Cindy Mooney, co-owner of LA Beer Hop.

Tickets are $69 and includes a flight of beer at each destination.

Also, be on the look-out for other trips to the South Bay with a different set of brewers.

Tiny Taps

I raise your tiny home and give you this….

…it needs a little love but that is where L.A. Beer Hop comes in. Per a recent Facebook post, “Our 2020 look. It’s a 1955 Aloha Travel Trailer that we’re converting into a MOBILE BEER BAR. 6 taps on the exterior. Surprises inside. Coming this Summer!” Now I have to measure to see if it will fit in my underground parking garage for a cool party.

Hopping in Glendale/Burbank

LA Beer Hop will have a bus roaming the valley starting on April 8th.

Burbank & Glendale are the specific cities with stops at the following: The Brewery at Simmzy’s Burbank • Verdugo West Brewing Co. • Lincoln Beer Company • Golden Road Brewing (You can sit this one out, take a breather) • Brewyard Beer Company • San Fernando Brewing • Henson

Tours depart every other Sunday at 1pm from the Burbank Metrolink at 201 N Front Street in Burbank.

Here is what you get and the cost, “The tour visits three breweries and includes a flight of beer at each place, bottled water, and as much beer info as you like. The entire event takes about four to five hours and the ticket is $69/person. Food will be available during each tour.”

3 Buses – 5 Years

Recently I spotted a L.A. Beer Hop bus on the highway and I started wondering who the lucky people inside the bus were and where they were headed next.

Tomorrow night, August 3rd starting at 6pm Cindy and Hal will celebrate 5 years of driving buses around Los Angeles at Mumford Brewing.

Drink beer their L.A. Beer Hop x Mumford Brewing collaborative Helles Lager that the LA Beer Hop team brewed with Peter Mumford.

In addition to the new beer, Vagabond Cheese will have a small cheese stand and pizzas will be available for delivery from Baldoria.

Who Ya’ Gonna Call?

A while back there was a weird & cool service where you could dial a number and be connected to a random person in Sweden. Just to talk.

But what if you wanted to talk beer or you had a pressing beer question?

Dial 1-855-LA-BEERS and you will be hooked up with Mr. LA Beer Hop, himself, Hal Mooney.

From 10am to Midnight, ask a question, especially regarding L.A. craft beer and you will get an answer directing you to better beer.
