For me, the longest part of getting to Dave’s on Broadway in Glendale is waiting for the crosswalk across said Broadway.

I am only a block away and not once in 18 years have I darkened the door of a bar that is pretty close to being as old as the City of Glendale itself.
But I have tasked myself with hitting up places new to me during this slide from summer to fall. So on a Friday night, I took a deep breath and opened the door.
And as dive bars go, it is nice. A good long bar, a summer cocktail menu and a disco ball too. The best part is the old timey black and white photographs of Glendale. Not so much the moose head though.

I went with a gin and dirty cherry drink, the Filthy Summer. It was a bit sweet but not bad considering the heat of the day. It did make me curious for the other drinks, including a passion fruit mule that caught my eye.
