Cosmic Lands in Torrance

Cosmic Ales drifted off the craft beer radar. Without a hone base and relying on contract brewing left customers without a reliable path to their beer. That has now changed….

Here is the website announcement:
“1 block west of Western and just south of Del Amo blvd. It’s the perfect location for us nestled in between Smog City, Monkish and the Dudes. What better company to be in!

We’ve already begun the renovations so stay tuned for a lively tasting room with many more great beers from our new Cosmic brew house”

Cosmic will need to up their game to attract people used to visiting the fabulous duo of Monkish and Smog City.

Cosmonaut

Cosmic Ales will have a new (and crazily labeled) beer for the California market and you should be on the look-out for Cosmonaut, “A California Blonde Ale, is a light and refreshing pilsner’esque ale with a wheaty flavor and a slight bittering of hops in a well rounded super clean beer. Perfect for the fall leaf raking season and as always a wonderful session beer coming in at 5.0% ABV.”

You can never have too many light, sessionable beers in L.A. and I am looking forward to trying this one.  Just don’t let the label scare you.

Alosta Brewing Company

There are many L.A. area Kickstarter breweries up and looking for capital. (I say donate to all of them) But I am focusing in on Alosta for this post.

I like to see history being invoked because we (and I include myself) know too little about the places that we live in and secondly, I like that they will be serving a part of the world that doesn’t have a brewery. Monrovia gets Pacific Plate and if you donate, then Glendora can have Alosta.

And I can get both!

Cosmic Brewing

You know the craft beer world is exploding. Especially now that the OC is the home of Cismontane, Bootleggers, the Bruery of course and now Cosmic Brewing in Irvine.

Their Hell Hound brown is starting to make it’s way into the LA beer bars. I will report further when I have sampled that and their saison.
