Foeder & Baltic

First a tiny primer, a Baltic Porter is a Porter that’s fermented cold with lager yeast instead of ale yeast.

The collaborative version from Beer Co.’s Harland and Embolden is “fermented a Baltic Porter in our American Oak Foeder This version gives off notes of bakers chocolate, vanilla, oak tannins, and a bit of coffee.”

Up or Down

If there is something I love more than a collaboration beer, it is a two-way collaboration beer. Brouwerij West and Common Space bring you Maximum Decline (the BW half) “is a West Coast Double IPA loaded with citrus flavors of tangerine and grapefruit, and piney dankness from copious use of Cryo Amarillo, Amarillo, Galaxy, and Nelson hops. We used malted barley, malted wheat, and flaked rice to keep this hoppy brew crisp and clean for maximum enjoyment this holiday season.”

And Minimum Incline IPA (from CS) is releasing Friday, December 9th.

A2

The AleSmith collabs keep coming, this time Other Half is the other half with Hop Cypher, “a new DDH West Coast-style IPA”  This beer might be just a skosh easier to snare than the recent Monkish collaborations with the New York brewery.

Aces

AleSmith is not slowing down the collaboration train as they have a new West Coast-style IPA with Revision Brewing, Split Aces.

The press release description is, “Notes of tropical fruit, pine, & berries all shine through thanks to Idaho 7, Chinook, and Mosaic hops, all brought together by a healthy punch of malt.”

I Can Do It Better

Let’s stick with Crowns & Hops and collaboration but swap in fellow Inglewoodian Three Weavers.

Here is the info on this Pink Boots “pale ale brewed with Norwegian Kveik yeast ups the craft beer game by taking your inner badass to the next level and then bringing you in tight for a raspberry, pineapple and bubblgegum hug.”

Riip City

I have listened and now watched on YouTube the final seconds of Portland’s one and only NBA championship win many times and with Bill Schonely, the voice and totem of the Trailblazers retiring, I wish that I could find this beer….

Three cheers for The Schonz!

Brewjeria Native

I will be reviewing beers from Bow & Arrow, the first Native woman-owned and operated brewery in the US. But SoCal beer fans can head to Brewjeria for a recipe collaboration beer that was released on the 18th.

“Native Land is a West Coast IPA at 6.1% ABV adapted from the original Bow & Arrow recipe and will be available on tap and in four packs. Our version of this delicious brew recognizes the ancestral land of the Tongva People. We will be donating a portion of proceeds from sales to the California Tribal Fund of the First Nations Development Institute.”
