DTLA de Mars

Angel City Brewery has a new Artist Series beer out and inside the pretty label is a not often brewed or canned style, Biere de Mars.

The DTLA version of “this Belgian-style table ale is a lightly veiled, crispy springtime refresher brewed with a medley of natural herbs like purple sage, Yerba Santa, yarrow & California bay leaf, giving it a mixture of fruity and herby notes on the tongue alongside floral and earthy aromatics.”

Overgrown

Boomtown Brewery has new Artist Series hoppy beer…

“Overgrowth Hazy DIPA is 8.2% brewed with American Mosaic & New Zealand Motueka hops. Aromas of Clementine, Papaya & Strawberries and jungle-like flavors of Apricot, Papaya & Mango.”

The artist is “Christina Chi is LA based working in animation production. Her art is influenced by playful chunky shapes and saturated colors, a love for silly creatures, brand mascots, old comic strips. Overgrowth was inspired by an innate desire to explore a world filled with little critters. “This is how I imagine a fantasy world would look like if I were four inches tall!”

French Belle

La Belle Étoile which translates to “The Beautiful Star” is the next Boomtown Artist Series Hazy DIPA.

Per the brewery, “This lovely brew is 8.4% brewed with Galaxy, Motueka, Citra, giving way to flavors of Nectarine, Tangerine, Peach & Melon, with a creamy full bodied mouth feel that gives us an intriguing vanilla vibe.”

This bright night sky blue label was designed by Caroline Gaoua-Hawkins, a French Industrial and Graphic designer.

Changing Times

Boomtown Brewery  has “changed” up their latest Artist canned IPA with Changeling.  Here is more info from the DTLA brewery. “Designed by the artist, activist and environmental consultant Lucia Gaia Pohlman , Changeling was born out of the chaos of 2020 and is a call to invite us to examine our place in the world and consciously decide how we step into a new future together with a beer in hand.

The artist describes the work as, “Not quite humanoid creatures dancing in a new way.” These figures house a wallop of delight in the form of a Hazy DIPA, that clocks in at 8.4% ABV and IBU 35. The beer has a nose of Guava, Orange Creamsicle, Hop Spice with flavors of Pomelo, Lemon Pith and Peach. Made with Galaxy, Mosaic and Cascade hops.”

Mosey Up to the Bar

Boomtown Brewery is dropping their first Artist Series Double IPA tomorrow and they have tabbed Matt Sharack (also known as Sharackula) to design the can label.  As you can see this is a Western meets Halloween look and inside, the IPA is powered by Amarillo and Cryo Mosaic hops.  Don’t try to get into a shootout afterwords though.  This is an 8.2% DIPA and will make that shot go a little wide.
