50 Beers from 50 States – FINAL Update

When I started back in January, I looked at a map of the US. Then looked at a listing of breweries and said to myself that “if” I can get 40 states in 12 months, that I would be happy.

Well, it is now December and I have tasted a beer (a beer brand new to me) from 44 of the 50 states!

Here is # 44….VIRGINIA

That is an impressive 88%.

The hunt is not yet over either. Title of this post notwithstanding. I plan on notching all 50 states into my beer belt. I do not care if it takes years. That is why a new page has been created to show the states checked off and any updates that may occur. The reviews will be posted there along with possible breweries from the missing states. But most importantly the blank pdf will be there for YOU to print out and create your own list!

50 Beers from 50 States – UPDATE

42!!
UPDATE: NOW I HAVE 43!

The inital goal of 40. Check. Now onto the next goal. 45!

Ambitious? Maybe, considering my only travel was to Oregon and Colorado this year.

I still have feelers out there that might garner me some local brews from Tennessee, Alabama and North Dakota. And thanks to the Beer Bloggers conference, I got Indiana and the incredibly hard South Dakota knocked off the list.

As usual, if you have access to these states:
Alabama
Arkansas
Kentucky – THANKS TO ALLTECH BREWING – OFF THE LIST
North Dakota
Oklahoma
Tennessee
Virginia
West Virginia

Send me an e-mail and I we can work out the details. Including a donation to a local food bank.

50 Beers from 50 States – Status Report

OK folks. 2 1/1 months are left on the clock. (It’s a big clock and it ticks loud)

It has been a busy month at 50 Beers from 50 states headquarters. I have scoured the itnerwebs and come up with beer from Snake River in Wyoming (purchased straight from the brewery), Tallgrass in Kansas (being shipped soon from the Wine and Cheese Place) and Epic in Utah (from Brewforia).

Thanks to LA Beer ambassador and all around great guy, Gev. I also scored beers from Nimbus in Arizona!

I am still looking for both Virginia’s and both Dakota’s as well as some of the hard to reach southeastern spots.

I will put my offer on the table again. Anyone who gets me a beer from a missing state will win the prize of me donating money to a food bank from that state. I have done it for Rhode Island and I will do it again. Check the pdf to the left and see if you can get me to my goal!

THANK YOU Lazy Magnolia!

Sometimes the mail brings you bills and sometimes the mail brings you beer (a beer on my wanted list) and beer swag.

Yesterday was the latter, so BIG, BIG thanks to the folks at Lazy Magnolia. Southern Pecan is coolin’ in the fridge and I am wearing the shirt out tonight AND tomorrow.
