Before I begin a little hop talk, do please make a point of checking out the Beervana Blog, I saw this hop news there and Jeff Alworth’s thoughtful pieces almost always trigger a response from me.
Like this piece about HQG-4. It stands for Hop Quality Group and the hop is the first of, you guessed it, four new hops that were flagged for consideration from a much larger group.
I have tasted it in the RnD # 68 from Russian River and found it to be quite lemony and also just different from the usual IPA notes so I am excited to see it used more and to see some single hop beers that use it.
