The final Oregon beer of November to be reviewed is the NW Ale from Sunriver Brewing. Rippin’ is the name and it is a winner from this GABF medal winning brewery. There is a floral meets pine meets citrus aroma that is quite pleasing. The taste is more on the IPA side of the ledger and is bitter enough to satisfy the hopheads. The clear and bright orange color certainly puts it into NW and not NE territory.
The bitter tastes linger and there is a slight metallic pilsner thing at the back of the mouth along with some orange peel notes. It is also noticeably “wet” in texture. Some beers can be bone dry but this is moist. (Sorry if you hate that word).
