A UK home brew appliance brand named Pinter is utilizing Kickstarter to bring attention and a bit of money one assumes to make their all-in-one brewing machine to the U.S. market.
At the end, you get 12 U.S pints of beer from just the one machine. Pinter handles everything from fermentation to conditioning to tapping (with an Active Pour Tap).
I do like that they have a sustainability angle to it and they seem to be finding good breweries in the UK to partner with. It does look pretty sleek as well.
I don’t know if this will finally break through. It is not the first such machine that promises great beer with ease. I think because home brewers won’t sacrifice the gadgets and ingredients and freedom and craft fans can buy beer even easier than the easiest home brew.

So many things to comment on.
Despite not wanting to bring more glassware into the house and having to hide it, the last year has brought more Kleen Kanteen and Glencairns around and now I look at The Storm Tsuki Glass brings and think how cool is that. According to the creators, it has “substantial weight, secure base, and aroma-enhancing shape offer an elevated tasting experience.” There will need to be some accidental breakage or donations to Goodwill before I can buy though.
The idea of a mobile beer truck percolates up every once in awhile. Beer brought to your party on tap alleviating the need for coolers and ice and re-stocking and running out of the most popular beer.
Los Angeles has a new entrant in this market with LA Tap Truck. The truck does look cool but the question on everyones mind is what beer is available to pick from?
If you have been to a Whole Foods recently, you have probably seen the scanners that allow you to pay with your palm because setting up an account with Amazon and giving them your information is just waaay easier than pulling out a wallet out of your pocket.
Well that palm scanning technology, aka Amazon One, (maybe because Prime or Plus was taken) is coming, albeit slowly, to a bar near you. Not only does it pay the barkeep but it also is an age gate.
But Amazon isn’t doing this for you, they are doing it for the data and you will probably not be surprised to find out that Amazon One’s palm scanner also keeps a record of your scans, and that record will be available to that barkeep you just paid. Now, that is good in that you may be prevented from having too many drinks but but do you want that data out there?
Amazon One plans will give it a test drive in Denver at the Sandlot Brewery and Silver Bullet Bar, at Coors Field where the MLB’s Colorado Rockies play baseball slightly better than the Nuggets play baseball.
If you broke your Magic 8 Ball or it refuses to give a good answer then maybe you need the Samuel Adams ‘I CAN’t’ Can. When you need an excuse to drink, the can shall provide.
Right upfront, I usually do not buy beer in the mail. There are a couple places that I check out but your Tavours of the world just aren’t my cup of tea. Mostly because I am super picky and prefer to choose the beers that I want in the quantity that I want and I just enjoy the experience of in person shopping and looking through the coolers.
But….City Brew Tour has an interesting hook to it. It is the ubiquitous subscription model and yes stickers and koozies seem to be a big part but what I like is that each month focuses on a different city and not just big cities or easily known beer cities.
For example, Bend, Oregon has been a stop but not Portland. New York hasn’t been hit nor Asheville or Denver. Yet. Instead you get Mikwaukee, Grand Rapids and Lexington as stops. And they already have Cincinnati lined up for June.
